Before we go into the details of the new Motocaddy GPS push trolley, lets re-cap last week which has been dominated by the USGA distance report.

We’ve looked at what the report might mean for future regulation of equipment and also detailed how the pro and amateur games have never been further apart when it comes to how far we drive the ball.

We’ve also taken a look at the 10 biggest hitters on the PGA and European Tours and got an in-depth pro’s view from Paul Waring.

So it’s been a quiet week as far as gear testing has been concerned but there has been plenty to keep us busy.

Motocaddy GPS push trolley launched

Meet the Motocaddy Cube Connect.

Motocaddy GPS push trolley

Motocaddy and Powakaddy both introduced GPS into their electric trolleys last year in a move which seems to have gone down well with the club golfer.

So it comes as little surprise to see Motocaddy adopting the same technology from their S5 Connect electric trolley into the all new Cube Connect push trolley.

We were massive fans of the S5 Connect when we tested it out last year.

A device built into the trolley’s handle connects to the free Motocaddy app (downloaded by 45,000 golfers) to provide yardage information, shot measurements and a round timer.

There’s also the option to have text, call, email and even social media notifications sent through to your trolley while out on the course.

We hate having that nagging feeling of missing something important while playing golf. Then when we get our phones out to check and end up getting distracted by a raft of unimportant emails and Facebook notifications.

With the Connect technology simply tell the app what notifications are important and chances are you’re phone will stay in your bag for the entire round.

The compact-folding Cube Connect has a simple two-step assembly system that allows it to quickly fold 45% smaller than traditional push trolleys.

It also features a foot-operated parking brake, oversized wheels;the brand’s innovative Easilock bag-to-trolley connection system, an under-handle storage net and integrated accessory compartment.

Powakaddy upgrade popular Compact C2 trolley

Another fantastic product from 2017 was the Powakaddy Compact C2 electric trolley.

It folded away and glided around the golf course like a dream. Definitely one of the standout products of last year.

We wrote last week how the Freeway range had been updated with new FW3s, FW5s models added to the FW7s and FW7s GPS.

And now we have the Compact C2i.

So how it it different from the original model?

The main difference is a new new 2.8in full colour screen adding more of a premium, hi-tech feel.

So as well as the superb two-fold mechanism golfers get a three-year warranty, USB charging port and a special compartment for balls, tees and pencils.

There’s the plug n’ play battery system and a choice between 18 or 36 hole lithium options which both come with a five-year warranty.

More information on the C2i, which has a starting SRP of £599.99, can be found on the Powakaddy website.

While we’re on, Powakaddy have also updated their range of cart bags for 2018.
