First impressions

Out of the packet, the quality of these trousers was great. They aren’t that thick, so are perfect for the warmer summer months and have the same material on the inside as the out so feel comfortable against the skin.

I like that these are ‘traditional’ looking golf trousers. Equipped with belt loops and classic fly fastening, there are also two well-sized pockets at the front and two at the back. The back pockets comfortably fit in a course planner, which is a bonus when playing tournament golf.

I tested the navy pair of these trousers and really liked that the colouring was a true deep shade of navy. FootJoy offers these in both black and white as well.

On course testing

I ordered these trousers in a Small (UK10) which is my typical bottoms size. FootJoy actually sent me them in a Medium/UK12, which fit perfectly around the waist. If that doesn’t scream that you need to size up, then I don’t know what will. These trousers are also only offered in sizes XS-XXL, so UK 8-18 which isn’t as wide a range of sizing as I might have expected.

Despite fitting well around the waist, there was a lot of excess material in the crotch area. However, I do like that FootJoy offers these trousers in different lengths. You can choose between regular length or long which is often hard to find in women’s apprel. I’m 5ft 9, and the reg length looked respectable, but a long might have been a better option.

FootJoy Women's Stretch Pants review

These trousers are made from 90% Polyester and 10% Spandex meaning that they’re a very easy-care fabric. Being so lightweight, these golf pants dried out really quickly, which is excellent if you get caught in some rainy British weather. After washing, they dried almost crease free when hung outside, making these really maintenance free.

FootJoy Women's Stretch Pants review

Despite some of the sizing issues, I think that these are a great pair of golf trousers. The large pockets are very functional, as are the belt loops. I really like that they don’t crease easily and so work great when I put them in my bag to take away on trips, which is a real bonus.

The 19th hole

I think that these are an excellent pair of smart trousers, but for me, they are still golf clothes and would only be worn in a golf environment.
