We really like the way these sit square to the ball.
They seem to launch very easily and are very consistent right across the face.
If you’re a fan of the G400 driver and fairway then there’s no reason why you won’t enjoy the hybrid.
Not quite as easy to work the ball left and right as some hybrids out there but these are superb for smashing the ball long and straight.

3. Best golf hybrids 2018: TaylorMade M4
Why it’s hot: The same silver and black crown design as the other M4 woods. There’s a very similar sound and feel too.
It’s a fairly compact head so has more of an old-school hybrid feel to it.
We were expecting this to fly a few yards further than everything else based on how good the M4 3-wood is but in fairness, the numbers were just as good but no better than everything else.

4. Best golf hybrids 2018: Callaway Rogue
Why it’s hot: A very large and inviting head which seems to appeal more to the game-improvement market.
It has a very deep head which is good as it works well from the turf or off the tee.
Callaway have introduced the same ‘Jailbreak’ technology as in their Epic and Rogue drivers and we did notice a little bit more pop off the face.
With all the 19˚ hybrids we tested we had an average carry of about 200 yards.
But with the Rogue we did get a couple to come off really hot carrying up to 215 yards.

5. Best golf hybrids 2018: Mizuno CLK
Why it’s hot: This looks superb in the address position with a lovely grey finish and a nice subtle alignment aid.
But what impressed us the most was the sound and feel – so smooth and soft. It made this club a real joy to hit.
All Mizuno’s woods in 2018 have been superb which proves they don’t just make fantastic irons.

6. Best golf hybrids 2018: Cobra F8
Why it’s hot: We love the nardo grey finish on these and the rail technology on the sole really helps them glide through the turf.
These are offered in One Length (with a 7-iron length) shaft too which were really fun and easy to hit.
When bought as part of a set they come with the Arccos game-tracking device built in the grip.
For the money, you won’t find a better package.

7. Best golf hybrids 2018: Wilson C300
Why it’s hot: A neat and compact headshape which produced one of the best, penetrating ball flights.
A nice solid sound and feel.
We are fans of the maroon finish but don’t feel the visible ‘power hole’ technology on the crown does anything to improve the overall aesthetic.
We found it very easy to shape the ball with these so think better players will have plenty of success with them.

Why it’s hot: Arguably the club with the most shelf appeal from all the models we tested here.
The headcover looks and feels fantastic too if that’s important to you.
A lovely sweet sound and feel off the face.

9. Best golf hybrids 2018: Cleveland Launcher HB
Why it’s hot: We were surprised by the compact headshape here as expected something a bit larger for a ‘game-improvement’ range.
Like the driver and fairways this was still very easy to launch and produced numbers as good as anything.
We like the no-nonsense feel to the whole Launcher HB range.

10. Best golf hybrids 2018: Bombtech Grenade
Why it’s hot: A very simple design and these don’t make you feel like they are loaded with technology. But they work.
They come with a steel shaft as standard, there’s no adjustability, no bells and whistles. But they really do work.
These produce numbers as good as anything out there so for the price, you’d be mad not to consider them.
