Are the golf balls Scottie Scheffler, Rory McIlroy and other top players use available on a Black Friday Deal? The results were mixed….
We’ve put together a list of the top golfers in the world, based on the official world golf rankings, and their ball of choice – then looked to see if this is a good time to snag a Black Friday bargain or not.
We have selected the Top 6 as they all choose to play a different ball!
Black Friday is on Friday November 28th and this page will be updated as and when prices change.
Despite playing a Titleist golf ball, Scottie is yet to make the transition with his golf ball to the latest Pro V1 2025 model. He still uses the previous Titleist Pro V1 iteration – as he has done his entire professional career and with the rate he is racking up trophies and Major Championships, it may be hard to convince him to switch.
Getting hold of the 2024 model is quite difficult these days but for those in the UK there are deals to be had with the yellow version. For those in the US they are currently 10% off brand new or at a much reduced rate for refurbished.
Xander swapped into Callaway’s Chrome Tour for the 2024 season – a stellar year, where he won The Open and PGA Championship.
“It really checks all the boxes for me. It’s got a very stable flight off the tee. It maintains spin really well on half shots. It’s got great spin and feel around the greens. Maybe the most impressive thing about the ball, though, is its stability in the wind. It can be tricky to find a ball that performs so well with every club in the bag, but that’s exactly what Chrome Tour does.”

The Callaway Chrome Tour RRP is $54.99/£55 – it is now available below RRP in the UK and US.
If you like the triple track alignment effect then there are 4 for 3 offers to be had in both the UK and US
There are also some really cool limited edition styles available at Callaway UK and Callaway US.
Russell Henley opts for the Titleist Pro V1x. Unlike Scottie Scheffler he tees up the latest model. The Pro V1x The spins more and launches higher than the Pro V1 but still produces brilliant distance off the tee through quick ball speeds.
The Titleist Pro V1x RRP is $55/£52 – it is now available slightly below RRP in the UK and at RRP level in the US.
If you want to be like Scottie Scheffler and play the 2024 model then these are discounted a little bit more
J.J. Spaun has had a terrific 2025 – claiming the US Open and being one of the stand out US players at the Ryder Cup.
His ball of choice is the Srixon Z-Star Diamond – a stand out ball for strong iron players who value control hitting into the greens. There is no doubt that this ball has delivered the goods for J.J. this year.
The Srixon Z-Star Diamond RRP is $49/£49 – for this ball there are good discounts for dozen and multi pack offers.
There we have it – top 6 players and the choice of golf ball they tee up with and the RRP price check against them. Quite remarkably, the current top 6 all play a different ball.
Though not a massive discount, it does seem the best time could be now to purchase premium golf balls. You could also consider purchasing older models to get an even bigger discount.
There are obviously more that 6 players on Tour – so, what are the most popular balls on The PGA Tour and are there any better offers available for other brands and models?
Most Played Golf Ball On The PGA Tour
The top choice for PGA Tour players is still overwhelmingly Titleist. The Pro V1x just takes the lead over the Pro V1 as the most played golf ball on tour.
Here are the most popular models on the PGA Tour this season, how many players tee them up and if there are any offers:
We recognise that purchasing golf balls is not always about ball speeds and spin control. Top-end Titleist, TaylorMade, Bridgestone, Srixon and Callaway options might not be for everyone.
