2) Amazon Basics Core Soft Golf Balls
It is 1994, Jeff Bezos is about to launch Amazon, you are sat having a coffee with him discussing his plans for the soon to be online book store and he says – By 2025 we want to be supplying, direct to golfers, an Amazon golf ball that can be delivered next day at a click of a button.
Well, fast forward 30 years and this is exactly what Amazon are doing – the Amazon Basics Core Soft golf ball is now available in the UK and US.
If you wished to try out the Amazon Basics Core Soft golf ball you could get it delivered to your door step tomorrow, in the typical Amazon packaging (above).
Priced at under £18/$15 per dozen it can be seen as a challenger in the budget and beginner’s ball category.
In recent years, some of the most popular balls in these categories have been the Kirkland Signature , Seed and Vice golf balls. Kirkland are known pretty much solely as a high performing budget ball which is only really available at Amazon. Vice offers a wider range of balls and can be purchased direct from the Vice website as well as off Amazon. Seed is pretty much direct to consumer and can be purchased from the Seed website.

It will be interesting to see if Amazon, similar to Kirkland, look to dominate the budget category or in time look to offer a more premium ball, similar to Vice and Seed.

I actually reviewed these shoes and absolutely loved them! I have to say, I became an instant Payntr convert and these are still my go to golf shoes. As I wrote in my review..
Better known for producing quality cricket shoes Payntr have now entered the golf market. It is not often a new golf shoe comes along and you think, yep, I might just consider shifting allegiance and move away from the more established brands. Having tested these shoes I do think they could be a disruptor in the market. Along with Jason Day, I would happily be a Payntr brand champion!
Simply – they are the best golf shoes I have ever tested.
They are unbelievably comfortable, attractively designed and leaves you with the feeling a lot of thought has gone into producing a shoe to break into the golf market.

5) PXG Xtreme Tour golf balls
It is fair to say that PXG have knocked it out the park with their 2025 ball offering. A relative new comer to the golf ball market they now offer up the PXG Xtreme Tour and Xtreme Tour X golf ball – both strong contenders for being the best golf ball of 2025.
There might be only two offerings currently from PXG but they are worthy of look – especially as they are just under the £40 and $40 mark for a dozen.

Possibly one of the best value for money pieces of golf equipment on the market – they are a great fit for those not looking to burn their back pocket on golf balls.
I think the Kirkland Signature golf balls are a great option for slower swinging golfers. Despite their drop in distance and ball speed they still offer solid performances in both categories. Additionally, controlling the ball on the green won’t be an issue with plenty of spin on offer.
