The Puma Helsinki Golf Shoe offers a stylish, trainer-inspired look that appeals to those seeking versatility and modernity. Designed mainly for summer, they feature lightweight, breathable materials, and a comfortable fit – even for my wider feet.
The grip and stability are suitable on various terrains, making them ideal on and off course everyday wear.
While they might not be a go to pair for muddy wet winters, they excel in warm weather – also passing the most stern of waterproof tests and so if you got caught in a down pour your feet would remain dry. The casual design may not suit traditionalists, but for those wanting a relaxed, sporty look, these shoes provide comfort, style, and practicality.
PROS
Very comfortable
Versatile – can easily be worn on and off the golf course
Great summer option – no issues with grip and support
Waterproof – this surprised me, but they definitely are!
CONS
Not an all the year round golf shoe if you play golf on muddy courses in the winter
Looks not for everyone

It’s hard not to be tempted by a set of shoes advertised as “Hands free slip-ins” so I wasn’t quite expecting such a classic traditional looking golf shoe when I opened the box and slipped them on – designed to maximise ease and comfort, these shoes need serious consideration when you are looking for your next pair to invest in.
PROS
Great looks if you like the traditional golf shoe style
“Slip-in” design works, even for people like me with wide feet!
Lots of features to maximise comfort and support your feet
100% waterproof
CONS
Make sure you choose soft spikes or spikeless (SL version) if you have a preference
Not so keen on the ‘Skechers slipins’ printed on the heel

Skechers Slip-ins Golf Waterproof Blade Tour | Source: NCG
This is clearly a premium shoe – packed with technology with very impressive looks and performance. A very stable platform with a comfortable feel.
This is comfort-focused shoe with excellent convenience! The previous tour shoe was the Blade GF shoe – It’s synthetic uppers received negative feedback because it looked and felt quite ‘plasticky’ – the 2026 shoe has a synthetic leather upper which addresses this and also improves the comfort of the product.
PROS
Great design
Improved on the previous model
Helps with stability and support
Hands free slip in
CONS
If anything a lack of added inclusions for the price – for example a shoe bag

The MC70 spiked golf shoe from Adidas combines a traditional look with style. The design is inspired by the iconic 1970s Adidas aesthetic. The leather upper helps with the timeless look whilst also being very practical.
The rubber spiked outsole gave lots of grip walking around the golf course even on the muddier areas. They’re not a shoe packed with foam but the Boost midsole does a great job at providing both comfort and support.
PROS
Sturdy
Comfortable
Stylish
CONS
Size up on your standard

Under Armour Drive Pro Clone Golf Shoe | Source: NCG
The Under Armour Drive Pro Clone is a genuinely innovative golf shoe that delivers outstanding comfort, stability and traction. Its auxetic upper (thicker when stretched and thinner when compressed) adapts to the shape of your foot during play before returning to its original form, offering a near custom-fit feel straight out of the box.
Combined with excellent grip in wet conditions and a noticeably improved aesthetic, this is one of the most impressive performance golf shoes currently available.
PROS
Phenomenal grip
Extremely stable throughout the golf swing
No break-in period needed
CONS
Sporty design won’t appeal to traditionalists

The Ecco Biom C5s are light and stylish – but they are also serious shoes that are built to last. The more you wear them the more they mould to the shape of your foot. A joy to wear.
PROS
Instant comfort combined with genuine durability
These Ecco shoes are exceptionally well constructed – a premium product
CONS
They are a significant investment – but for us they will repay you in performance and longevity
This is a glorious golf shoe. It has premium looks, is extremely comfortable and offers tremendous performance. It comes highly recommended.
My feet remained dry, even in some heavy downpours so I can attest to their waterproof breathable properties.
I thoroughly enjoyed testing my first pair of Payntr shoes, the 87 SC. The combination of good looks, exceptional comfort premium construction and first rate performance means that these shoes get a well-merited 5 star review and although the RRP of £200/$220 is certainly top end, I feel that it is justified.
These golf shoes feel the same as top of the range gym shoes. They’re comfy, but you feel well locked in to the shoe and it is now a part of your performance armoury.
I really like the way the shoes feel throughout the swing, you have a good responsiveness from the ground and feel like you are able to use the shoes to create more torque and speed.
The whole design of this shoe is about achieving biomechanical correct footwork through the golf swing and it was on the back 9 the shoes really came into their own. I felt secure and locked into the shoe whilst the dial foam cushioning kept me comfortable, I felt like that I could have easily walked another 18 holes in these shoes no problem.
I have no issue recommending these shoes to anyone looking for a lightweight, waterproof pair of spikeless golf shoes for this autumn/winter.
I might even get another lighter-coloured pair for spring/summer!
These were everything you want a pair of golf boots to be. The waterproofing was excellent and handled the wet fairways and rough with ease.
Comfort is always king for me when it comes to golf footwear and these certainly fit that bill.
I also really liked how stable I felt swinging on wet ground. Throughout testing I felt they felt sturdy and secure.
Overall, these are perfect for playing golf during winter especially and are a great option to keep your feet dry and warm as the weather continues to take a turn for the worse.
I would recommend these to anyone looking for a pair of golf boots. I’ll certainly be putting them to good use this winter.

What is important when buying Golf shoes?
When buying new golf footwear its important to know what attributes or features you value the most before deciding on a brand or model to buy. For example, do you want spiked or spikeless shoes?
A lot of golfers think comfort is paramount when choosing a shoe, we are going to be standing in them for 3-5 hours right? Some golf shoes on the market have special insoles and cushioned mid-soles designed to keep your feet feeling fresh. Also it’s pretty common for golfers with wide feet to wear the wrong sized pair of golf shoes so its worth getting fit properly.
Grip is vital to good performance on the golf course as any foot slip in dry or wet conditions can not only cause the golf club to swing improperly but may also lead to an injury.
Nearly all golf shoes will either be fully waterproof or offer some kind of water resistance, and this is important as real die-hard golfers play in every weather condition. Having wet feet for 4 hours is not and will never be fun.
How good the shoe looks is of course subjective to personal style, but is important to any player. Do you prefer an athletic-looking shoe, or are you more traditional? Does your shoe offer on-course off-course style or do you want shoes purely for the course? Does the style of shoe you like have the best colour options for your golfing wardrobe?
Price is the last factor to consider. With the models above we have tried to find shoes at all different price points so if you want a shoe at a lower cost, you can get one. Or if you want to spend more, you can do that too. Importantly there is something for everyone.
What brands produce the best golf shoes?
All of the products in this best waterproof golf shoes 2026 article are picked from the brands that offer what we believe to be the best shoes on the market.
Do any pros wear spikeless golf shoes on tour?
As you will see on TV when watching the PGA, LPGA & DP World Tour, professionals wear both spiked and spikeless golf shoes, depending on their preference.
Some tour players are looking for extra stability and grip for maximum power creation that a spiked golf shoe might offer, and others are looking for the comfort and style that spikeless golf shoes offer. Some tour players prefer a running shoe style, and others a traditional classic leather shoe; there really isn’t a hard or fast rule as to what tour players wear.

A bit of a late bloomer to the game of golf, Max fell in love with the sport when he attended Saturday coaching sessions down at his local golf club after being inspired by friends and family members.
Max has remained a member of Eden Golf Club in Carlisle for a number of years now as he looks to get his handicap down into single figures. Most of his golfing career has been spent battling a permanent slice off the tee, which has led to some ugly rounds.
Having studied at the University of Sunderland, Max is starting out his dream career in sports journalism. During his time at university, he picked up valuable work experience at Reach PLC, BBC Radio Cumbria and GiveMeSport, whilst also getting work published in the Teesside Live. He also spent time working at a local weekly newspaper, Eskdale and Liddesdale Advertiser, as a general news reporter partially covering some local sport just north of the border in Langholm.
Max has just started his journey with the NCG working as the assistant equipment editor. He looks forwarded to reviewing the latest golf equipment, taking up an interest in reviews when buying his first golf club, a Cleveland RTX wedge.
With his bag not going under too many changes throughout the last few years, Max carries an M3 driver, Titleist GT3 Fairway Wood, M2 hybrid, a set of M2 irons, Callaway Jaws wedges and a TaylorMade Spider putter. And yes, Max is a bit of a self-proclaimed TaylorMade fan boy.
