Possibly one of the best value for money pieces of golf equipment on the market – they are a great fit for those not looking to burn their back pocket on golf balls.
I think the Kirkland Signature golf balls are a great option for slower swinging golfers. Despite their drop in distance and ball speed they still offer solid performances in both categories. Additionally, controlling the ball on the green won’t be an issue with plenty of spin on offer.

Kirkland Signature golf ball review: First Impressions
Initially I went into testing sceptical of how good these golf balls could be considering their price point.
For those in the UK they come as a 2 dozen pack at £40 whilst for those in the United States these are remarkably priced at $29.99 for 2 dozen!
Nevertheless I went into it with an open mind having heard some good things about the performance levels despite being more of a budget friendly golf ball.
I have to say the packaging is nice but is a bit busier than some other boxes, looks a tad less classy than other brands. But that is just me being picky and to be honest I would rather have a good quality ball and basic packaging than the other way round!
NCG Verdict
The first thing to say about the Kirkland Signature golf ball is that it is quite the surprise performer. Although I wasn’t particularly impressed with the sound of the ball. Off the putter it feels quite firm and makes a distinct high pitch sound which you could definitely get accustomed to but ultimately doesn’t feel the same as a premium, urethane covered golf ball.
Despite how it feels, it is actually equipped with a urethane cover. It is also constructed to be a 3-piece golf ball, offering great value for money in terms of technology.
Moving away from the green, I tested out the performance of the Kirkland Signature golf ball from some short, 50 yard chip shots. I was pleasantly surprised with how much spin I was able to produce/receive on the greens.

As you can see from the data below, it was pretty solid performance wise with a 58° wedge in hand. A carry average of 49.6 was fairly good, whilst a spin rate of 7569rpm with such a good value golf ball is a strong return. I’d usually look for something around 10,000rpm from a premium golf ball but with all things considered I was happy with what I was seeing.
Again the ball does feel particularly firm of the face of a wedge, but with how well it reacted on the green I was pleased.
I was having some issues with distance when I had a longer iron in play. The ball wasn’t going as far as I’d ideally like. With the ball speed being down at an average of 114.6 it meant the distance was never going to be particularly massive.
However, I was once agin pleased with the spin numbers. The peak height at 100ft was also ideal and a good sign for being able to control shots into the green.
I wasn’t too disappointed with the data from the driver. Off the tee, I was able to average a 266 yard carry for a 283 yard total. The ball speed average of 157 yards is again a little bit down on what I would typically aim for.
Overall, I am around five miles per hour down on what I would get from a premium golf ball which would give me another 15 yards, or so, carry.
To sum up, it is no Titleist Pro V1 but it is a perfectly good golf ball. If you can get adjusted to the firmer feel and the distinct sound then this could be a nice option for golfers with a slower swing speed. I wasn’t a fan of the feel off the putter face, but then again I’m not someone who the ball is targeted at.
Throw the price in there, especially for those in the US, and all things considered, these balls supply a really great value for money golf ball.
