NOTE: Below is Gary Woodland’s WITB for 2019. Click here to see what he’s gaming in 2020.
A final-round of 69 was enough for Gary Woodland to claim his maiden major title at the US Open. A birdie at the last saw Woodland finish on 13-under par, three shots ahead of 2017 and ’18 US Open champion Brooks Koepka.
So what’s he using? Well Woodland was a free agent until he signed a multi-year equipment deal with Wilson Staff in January. He was initially seen playing the Wilson Staff forged prototype blade irons at the Hero World Challenge last year.
What’s in Woodland’s bag?
Woodland carries the Ping G410 driver and with an average driving distance of 309 yards he is ranked 11th on the PGA Tour for length off the tee. He also chooses to use the Ping G410 3-wood but in the LST model.
Woodland’s iron model of choice is the Wilson Staff Model Blades which he carries from 4-iron to pitching wedge. He also carries a Wilson Staff prototype driving iron with 18 degrees of loft.
He uses a mixed set of wedges with Titleist Vokey Design SM7s in 53 and 58 degrees before introducing a 64-degree TaylorMade Milled Grind Hi-Toe. We have also seen Dustin Johnson and Rory McIlroy put a 64-degree wedge in play this season.
Woodland rounds off his bag with a Newport-style Scotty Cameron putter and plays the Titleist Pro V1 golf ball.
