Interestingly, Snedeker also has graphite shafts in his irons so don’t think extra-stiff steel shafts are the only way to go for the world’s best ball strikers.
Fellow Bridgestone staffer Matt Kuchar takes a similar approach.
This was a ninth PGA Tour win for Snedeker and he did it after shooting a 59 on Thursday. But it wasn’t all plain sailing as he dropped back to a share of the lead with CT Pan.
But after Pan drove it out of bounds on the 72nd hole, Snedeker made birdie at the last for a three-shot victory over Pan and Webb Simpson.
Snedeker’s driver is a Bridgestone JGR prototype.
He then opts for a couple of TaylorMade M3 fairway woods.
He has a mixture of the Bridgestone J15 and J40 irons before a couple of J15 wedges.
Snedeker also carries a 60˚ Vokey prototype lob wedge.
His putter is a classic Odyssey Rossie which you could probably pick up on eBay for about £40.
He plays the same Bridgestone golf ball as Tiger Woods so if both are included as two of Jim Furyk’s Ryder Cup wildcards they could be a potential foursomes pairing.
