Puma GS-X Efekt Golf Boot Review: NCG Summary

Puma GS-X Efekt golf boot
4.5 star review
NCG SUMMARY

The Puma GS-X Efekt Golf Boots really surprised me, and performed on the golf course in a way I didn’t think was possible.

They are big boots, there’s no question, and they made me feel solid and instilled a feeling of trust in my swing as my feet were planted to the grass.

This isn’t always a feeling you could have with spikeless golf footwear, but the Puma GS-X Efekt Golf Boot grew on me in both feeling and look.

PROS

  • Solid, sturdy design and feeling of reliability
  • The look is unique and pleasing
  • Spacious, roomy and also warm

CONS

  • Boots might feel heavy on your feet

Puma GS-X Efekt Golf Boot Review: First Impressions

This golf boot very much proved to me that you can’t judge a book by its cover. This product would not be me at all. I am fairly bland with my golf clothing choices.

I really like the large ‘golf’ lettering on the bottom of the boot. The colour scheme isn’t that extravagant, or to an extent that should put you off. The official name is Dark Coal/Glacial Gray, but there are also hints of some gold and blue in there too, while the bottom of the boot is predominantly white.

You could easily mistake this pair of golf boots for a pair of trainers, which is a huge compliment to me. This means they will appeal to younger fans with style, but also appeal to a slightly older demographic with the solid, boot construction too.

On Course Testing

On the golf course, these shoes were incredibly comfortable. This is a big positive in my book. They were roomy and spacious, but in this way, they weren’t loose or not fitting. They were true to size, so make sure you don’t tamper with your usual choice.

They might look like and feel like trainers, but they don’t have the sleekness. I complimented the spaciousness and comfort of the Puma GS-X Efekt Golf Boot, which I stand by, but some golfers might like a pair of shoes that are tighter and more resemble the shape of their feet.

Having said all this, I felt very stable when swinging my clubs in them. They have no spikes, but this didn’t diminish the grip I felt underneath my feet on what was wet slippery rough at times.

Overall, I was very pleased with the Puma GS-X Efekt Golf Boot. It was stylish, secure and comfortable, and these are three things I won’t turn down when it comes to winter golf.

19th Hole

With their athletic, trainer-like style, you wouldn’t look out of place if you wore these out and about in town during the winter. They are very warm and sturdy, so your feet won’t be cold in the coming months.

The design and size of the boot might be a bridge too far for some golfers, so it also might be a bridge too far to wear it on social occasions or in the clubhouse.

But while many golf shoes are still in the past, this golf boot is versatile and if you were looking for something that crosses over into the real world off the golf course, these boots could tick that box.

You might be someone who prioritises comfort over looks. If your concerns aren’t with the size or colour of the Puma GS X Efekt Golf Boots, then you should seriously consider an investment.

If my stroll on the golf course was anything to go by, the Puma GS-X Efekt Golf Boots are perfect at keeping out the rain and the cold.

In the coming winter months, walking through town or any non-golf setting, these boots won’t do you wrong.
