WITB: Lucas Bjerregaard – Dunhill Links Championship
Another week, another win for one of golf’s free agents.
Just like Tommy Fleetwood, Paul Casey and Francesco Molinari, the Dane gets paid to wear Nike clothes, play and Titleist ball and has his own bag sponsor.
So he can choose whichever golf clubs he likes. And he’s obviously liking the brand new Titleist TS3 driver which has gone down brilliantly well with tour players since it’s release this summer.
And for Bjerregaard it’s almost exclusively Titleist gear with three different iron models on the go.
It’s not uncommon to see players opting for a mix of the T-MB, CB and MB models to make up the perfect combo set.
He also uses Vokey wedges and the classic Scotty Cameron putter.
His final round 67 was enough to edge past Ryder Cup heroes Tyrrell Hatton and Tommy Fleetwood on St Andrews’ Old Course.
“It’s been a great year and now it’s just a whole lot better,” Bjerregaard said.
“It didn’t really look like I was ever in it today, it looked like Tyrrell was going to take off with it. I was trucking away at it. I’ve been playing well for a little while and I played really well today and I’m really pleased that it was enough.”
