What’s in DJ’s bag at the PGA Championship?
Dustin Johnson WITB 2018. The American bagged his third win of 2018 recently at the Canadian Open and it was his third with the TaylorMade M4 driver.
It’s the model Johnson has had the most success with this year after dabbling with the M3 ahead of the Masters.
We had originally expected DJ to put the M3 driver into play from the get go but as previously reported, the M4 at 9.5˚ did the job for him at the Tournament of Champions in Hawaii and then the St Jude Classic.
Johnson had used the adjustable M1 throughout 2017 and liked to deploy one of the moveable weights in the toe to help him hit his trademark high fade.

So it was a surprise when he plumped for the M4 but he said it wasn’t necessary to shape the ball too much at Kapula so long and straight was doing just fine.
He then switched to the M3 at the trickier Riveria ahead of the Masters and stuck with it at Augusta.
But he wasn’t able to add to his trophy cabinet with it and has now just landed his third win of the year with the M4 after triumphing at the St Jude Classic last month.
Johnson uses the P730 ‘DJ Proto’ irons – pretty much the same ones Rory McIlroy and Justin Rose have in the bag.
And another new club for 2018 is the ‘Hi-Toe’ lob wedge in 64˚ to go alongside his other two Milled Grind wedges.
A key equipment change for DJ came halfway through the WGC-Bridgstone where he went on to shoot -10 over the weekend.
It was the TaylorMade Spider Mini Silver which went in the bag and he carried his good form on the green over to Bellerive for the PGA Championship.
