First Impressions
Powakaddy always does a great job at creating a high quality golf trolley that has a sporty yet sleek design.
This is the highest spec model that Powakaddy offers so there’s lots to go through. Firstly, that large 5″ LED screen is very impressive. The display is very clear and the touchscreen means that it’s easy to use.
There is 4 wheels on the RX12. The back wheels have new high traction all-terrain surface, the front wheel is as standard and a fourth anti-tip rear wheel is for stability on the inclines.
The battery is Powakaddy’s XL-Plus Plug’n’Play™ 30v battery system. This sits really nicely in the body of the trolley.
NCG Review
I won’t lie and tell you that I’m a remote control trolley pro, I certainly felt like I needed my L plates on at first with the RX12. However, I must admit that the remote control was much easier to use that I first thought. The circular dial had the stop in the middle, the left, right, front and back around.
I liked that you could just swap and change between the remote and manual control. I found there was times I just wanted full control especially near a water hazard and it was nice to have this option without having to switch function.

Performance wise, the Powakaddy RX12 has nine different power speed settings. The dial on the handle has anti-tamper cover to stop those times you might accidentally turn the trolley on.
The RX12 has a handy USB-C if you need to charge anything during your round.
The trolley also comes with a Mag-Lok device, this works with a Powakaddy bag so that it can slot onto the trolley. This means that you don’t need to use the straps to keep your bag in place as it’s already locked in. Basically, it can then never fall off.
The LED screen has so many features. Firstly, you get a 40,000 courses pre loaded with no annual subscription or fee. This allows you to get a full hole view, showing everything you need to get you around. The touchscreen allows you to select areas to get a distance. The GPS compared to my Bushnell was almost identical each time.
Practically, the trolley is very easy to put up and put down. Pushing in and pulling up the grey button helps to unlock the whole trolley. Perfect if you tend to be in a rush for that morning tee time. DFT™ (Drop Flag Technology) allows you to move the flag to where you see it on the green for more accurate numbers.
A scorecard feature on the screen allows you to keep up to date with your performance which can then be viewed in the Powakaddy app. A lost ball timer allows you to keep within the rules.
Although, it’s not as small, when folded down, as some other models, I had no problem fitting it in my boot with my golf clubs. The wheels can easily slide off and on to help with space.
Final thoughts
Overall, the RX12 is more than just an electric trolley. It has so much to offer with a built in highly accurate GPS with 40,000 courses built in.
The remote control is easy to use and you can swap to the manual. This trolley does come in at a high price point however given the features it’s certainly a good investment.
