I have owned my fair share of Adidas trainers in the past and these are not too dissimilar. You can be forgiven for thinking these are a regular pair of shoes at first glance. But, that is what I love about the Adidas Retrocross 25 spikes golf shoes. They can be worn anytime, anyplace including on the golf course.

Most importantly they perform fantastically. They are extremely comfortable and provide quality grip despite being spikeless. They also offer some protection from the elements with waterproof upper material. This may be the most fashionable golf shoe on the market currently.

First Impressions

I am golfer who favours a more casual golf shoe. There’s a lot of discourse of what is and isn’t acceptable to wear on the golf course, but I think trainer-styled golf shoes more than belong on a golf course. I think with the physical demands the game can have on some players it’s great to have an option that makes walking a golf course as comfortable as possible.

Aesthetically, there is nothing to complain about when it comes to the Adidas Retrocross 25 spikeless golf shoes. As soon as the top of the shoe box lifted I knew these were the golf shoes for me. Granted, I’d will probably only wear them in drier conditions, but once the sun does show itself then you are in for a treat.

Not only could I see myself wearing these out on the golf course this summer but they definitely wouldn’t look out of place worn casually, out and about. They meet the perfect blend, visually, between a golf shoe and a trainer. Adidas have designed these to be versatile in use and that’s exactly what they are.

On Course Testing

Comfort is certainly king here. I think, on the whole, golf shoes are getting increasingly more comfortable each year and Adidas haven’t seem to have bucked this trend. The sportswear giant has equipped the Retrocross’ with ultralight Lightstrike cushioning underfoot, which makes tackling 18 holes a breeze.

There is a real emphasis on promoting an easy walk. The relaxed style really helps to ensure this. Although, I have only used these for a short period of time, I am sure they would retain their comfort and hold up long term.

A common concern for most golfers when it comes to trainer-styled shoes, and spikeless offerings for that matter, is the level of stability. But, I do think that assumption is a little outdated considering the strength of modern technologies. There is definitely no need for concern in that department here.

The durable rubber outsole features Traxion technology for enhanced grip. So, if your home course is littered with slopes and undulations, you will have a pair of golf shoes that will work with you rather than against.

Like I say, I don’t think I own a more ideal pair of golf shoes for spring and summer time. A durable waterproof upper material offers solid protection against the early morning due and elements if a sudden downpour did occur.

NCG Verdict

Overall, I really enjoyed testing the Adidas Retrocross 25 spikeless golf shoes.

I am a big of Adidas styled trainers for everyday use so having some to wear on the golf course was ideal for me.

Sometimes when it comes to golf shoes that are advertised as versatile, you can’t always see yourself wearing them away from the golf course. That definitely isn’t the case here.

A bit of a late bloomer to the game of golf, Max fell in love with the sport when he attended Saturday coaching sessions down at his local golf club after being inspired by friends and family members.
