First impressions: There’s usually a premium feel when you get a piece of Yonex kit in your hands and the EZone Tri-G driver is no exception.
A classic, compact head shape which will suit the eye of the better player. There’s also a subtle metallic finish on the crown which adds to the premium feel.
The shaft and the head are designed specifically to work together which really adds to the overall package.
There’s plenty of technology visible in the sole and fairly straight forward adjustability in the hosel.
What they say: So what exactly are those three weights in the sole doing?
Well, the Yonex Concentric Weight System can be fine tuned to dial in the right launch and add distance to your drives.
The driver comes in a 460cc head and a more compact 445cc version for tour quality performance and playability.
All Ezone Tri-G drivers feature a new lightweight Nanometric carbon shaft with a mid-low kick point aimed at creating more power and distance.
Consider this if you want a premium shaft and head that are developed from the start to work with each other"
NCG Verdict: I really enjoyed hitting this driver. I often find Yonex woods are extremely responsive which I put down to their own high-quality graphite shafts, and this was no exception.
It really does jump off the face of the Tri-G. It’s a pretty simple look at address, which is a good thing, and a driver I felt comfortable with very quickly.
Some may be put off by the price tag but these are high quality Japanese components which haven’t just been thrown together for the sake of it.
If you can get your hands on one then I’d recommend having a hit as the performance speaks for itself.
