First Impressions

Golf shoes are resembling trainers more and more. That isn’t a bad thing. Trainers are comfortable, athletic and look good and you can say all of these things about Puma Ignite Elevate X Golf Shoes.

I really liked the look of them when I took them out of the box. They tick the first impressions box for sure, and this is what you want when you buy a new pair of golf shoes. The bottom of the shoes contributes to the athletic look, too. Puma has created a really good design here, one I can’t see not being popular.

You might think that athletic-looking or trainer-looking golf shoes suit younger golfers. You might be right, but after my first glance at these golf shoes, I would say they would appeal to every type of golfer.

The combination of white and black on the top, with a hint of orange on the end of the laces, is visually appealing. Again, I think Puma has produced a very nice design here, one I can see flying off the shelves. In my hands, they were sturdy shoes with a solid base.

On Course Testing

When I put them on my feet, I could feel the benefit of the Ignite Foam, one of many innovations that Puma prides itself on. The FloatPlate technology might sound like jargon to you and I, but this feature explains why I felt solid support and stability under my feet.

There is also the ExoShell upper, which provides support on top of the shoe. I didn’t quite feel the benefit of this feature when wearing them on the golf course, not to the same extent that I appreciated the underfoot quality. Nonetheless, I feel Puma left no stone unturned with this design.

It is not an overpowering shoe. Sometimes with golf shoes that look to resemble trainers, they can come with bells and whistles from a design perspective that just don’t feel great or meet the eye. Like any new pair of shoes, I constantly found myself looking down, anxious to look at them from every angle as I walked the fairways and the rough.

I was pleased, satisfied. I can’t say this is a shoe that will blow you away, but in terms of comfort and security while swinging your swing and playing your game, there is no reason not to wear them again and again.

19th Hole

It isn’t every day you come across a pair of golf shoes that you could wear on and off the golf course, but you have come across one here for sure. This isn’t to say that I would wear them out and about over a pair of trainers, but they definitely have the look and design to masquerade as a pair of trainers in social settings, and you wouldn’t bat an eyelid.

You could wear these to watch a sports event, and you could wear them in other social settings.
