First Impressions
Cart bags can be big and bulky, a reason I tend to primarily use a stand bag on the trolley. However, Motocaddy has cracked the code with the Lite Series bag, offering a cart bag that weighs only 2.2kg – which is actually 0.3kg lighter than my current Ping Hoofer!
The weight doesn’t mean that Motocaddy has skimped on features. Instead they’ve used a lightweight Nylon material that’s got a durable, water resistant texture. You still get a full 14 way divider at the top with a handy 7 pockets for storage and they’re very well sized.
In terms of design, I think the Lite Series looks very smart. It very much fits the Motocaddy styling, which I do like.
How I undertook the review
Having just received a range of Motocaddy trollies to test it was very fitting to take the Lite Series bag out for a spin over the weekend. I played at my home course Hickleton Golf Club back to back days putting the bag to the test.
What I found
As mentioned the weight certainly doesn’t affect the storage size. Motocaddy added 7 pockets to the Lite Series – there’s two large apparel pockets down either side than provide plenty of space for extra clothing etc. Then on top of this each side there is soft lined valuable pockets with waterproof zips.

At the front of the bag is three more pockets, sitting top to bottom. The lowest pocket is a huge pocket, I found this best to hold golf balls and my tee peg bag. Above this is my favourite pocket, an insulated food and beverage pocket. I’m a big fan of taking a packed lunch out on the course or simply taking a cool bag for drinks in the warmer weather so this was a real win for me. The bag doesn’t have an external drinks holder so this pocket does the job. And, then above this was a smaller pocket. I found this to be a nice size to storage a rangefinder in as well as my glove and another small accessories.
Externally, you get a towel and accessories hook alongside a Velcro glove patch. There was also an umbrella loop. I liked that this was positioned towards the front of the bag so that it didn’t interfere with how the bag sat on the trolley.
The 14 way top, gives enough space for all of your clubs. Unlike some of the other models there is no external putter well but I don’t mind that as they all sat nicely.
Transporting the Lite Series was straight forward, with one large strap at the back to carry the bag on your shoulder. There is also a smaller carry handle at the back for easy of lifting as well as a front carry handle.
As you would expect the Lite Series sits very well on a trolley. Motocaddy use an Easilock system where you can add pins in the base of the bag that sit directly into the base of a Motocaddy trolley. This removes the need for a bottom strap and makes the bag very stable out on the golf course. An anti-twist base has also been added, which is a cut out slot to stop the bag moving during the round.

Overall, if you’re looking for a stylish lightweight cart bag the Motocaddy Lite Series is a great option. The lightweight nylon material feels very durable offering ample storage space. And, thanks to the easilock cart system the bag remains stable throughout the entire round.
How it compares to other cart golf bags
I currently already have Motocaddy Pro Series cart bag which is very luxurious with the leather make it and extra features. However, I do find it to be big and bulky. It’s harder to get in and out of the car being much heavier. The Lite Series is much easier to transport without sacrificing style and the Motocaddy Easilock practicality.
