Stromberg Men’s Hampton Stretch Golf Trousers

5 star review

Stromberg Men’s Hampton Stretch Golf Trousers back | Credit: NCG

Stromberg trousers have always been a part of my wardrobe, and the Hampton Stretch Golf Trousers will certainly be added to that collection.

Made almost entirely from polyester, the Hampton Trousers tapered at the ankle, and they have been constructed to allow for stretching and flexibility, without any issues.

The rubber interior waistband helps to keep the trousers in the same place, and to hold your shirt in place, while the outer material has Scotchguard Protection, meaning they can repel water when needed.

They are an incredibly comfortable pair of trousers, and with four pockets – two at the front and two at the back – there is plenty of space to carry everything you need for a round of golf.

PROS:

  • Very comfortable
  • Plenty of pocket space
  • Great pricing

CONS:

  • None

RRP: £49.99

Sizes: 30-46

Colours: Navy, black and grey

Stromberg Men’s Sintra golf shorts

4 star review

Stromberg produce some nice kit at a decent price.

The Sintra model is a smart-looking pair of golf shorts at a very reasonable price.

They are made from 100% polyester but what piqued my interest was Stromberg’s statement that these have one of the highest wicking levels on the market. They are non-iron and the material has a nice texture to it. The fabric is also abrasion resistant and quick-drying.

They are comfortable and ,although I could not see it explicitly mentioned, they have a slight stretch to them, albeit not as much as some other shorts. They have a large range of colours and sizes and represent great value for money.

PROS:

  • Classic style
  • Excellent moisture wicking
  • Great value

CONS:

  • Not particularly stretchy

RRP: £39.99 – check out offers as sometimes there are 2 for £50

Sizes: 30-46

Colours: Navy, black, bottle green, grey, light grey, nautical blue, red, sky blue and white

Stromberg is the house brand for American Golf and aims to provide clothing with appealing looks and performance – all at a reasonable price.

The Knebworth golf polo in mint is interesting and a perfect addition to your golf wardrobe for this coming spring and for kicking off the Major season!

The white accents and logo complement the colour nicely.

The fit is good, and the performance stretch material allows unrestricted freedom of movement. This shirt fits the typical Stromberg ethos- clean styling with wearable colours and designs. The Knebworth golf polo is a solid budget for mid-price golf polo.

PROS

  • Moisture wicking and strong UV protection
  • Good comfortable fit
  • Sustainable construction

CONS

  • Colour options might not to be everyone’s taste

RRP: £34.99

Sizes: S-XXXL

Colours: Mint, light grey, black, charcoal/black and navy

Stromberg Drift Colour Block Golf Polo

4.5 star review
Stromberg Drift Colour Block Golf Polo | Source: NCG
Stromberg Drift Colour Block Golf Polo | Source: NCG

The Stromberg Drift Colour Block Golf Polo Shirt is a really solid option if you’re looking for something that blends performance with a slightly more modern look. The colour block design gives it a bit more personality than a standard polo, without being too over the top, so it works just as well on the course as it does off it.

In terms of comfort, this is where it really performs.

The fabric is lightweight and breathable, with moisture-wicking properties that help keep you cool and dry throughout the round. It also has a good amount of stretch, which makes a noticeable difference during the swing and means you never feel restricted.

I found the fit to be clean and easy to wear, sitting nicely without feeling too tight or too loose. It’s one of those polos you can just put on and forget about while you play.

Overall, it’s a comfortable, modern golf shirt that offers great value and does exactly what you need it to on the course.

PROS

  • Easy to wear
  • Bold Design
  • Stretchy Fabric

CONS

  • Block design might not be for all

RRP: £29.99

Sizes: S-XXL

Colours: Navy/blue/white and white/pink/black

For the summer months, many golfers look toward a gilet for some warmth and comfort without having to put a jumper on. The Furness DWR Golf Gilet is comfortable and has a great design to it, while the DWR – standing for Durable Water Repellent – allows you to play in light rain without getting your torso and back wet.

Made from 100% polyester, the Furness DWR Golf Gilet is warm and allows freedom of movement, but it may well be slightly thick for use in the height of summer, when the sun is at its warmest. Other than that, it is definitely something that you should look to add to your wardrobe for 2026!

PROS

  • Comfortable
  • Warm
  • Sleek design

CONS

  • Thick for summer use

RRP: £49.99

Sizes: S-XXXXXL

Colours: Black

Looking to stand out on the golf course this summer? The Lambourne Floral Golf Polo will help you do just that, thanks to its fantastic design, especially the mint and navy version.

Thanks to moisture-wicking material, the Lambourne Floral Polo will keep you dry in both hot and wet conditions, and the fabric the shirt is made from is 88% recycled as well, helping the planet.

The name Stromberg might put some people off from buying, as they won’t think it compares to a Nike or Under Armour, but for the price point, and for the quality that you do get, the Lambourne Floral Golf Polo is absolutely spot on!

PROS

  • Great design
  • Bold and colourful
  • Good price point

CONS

  • Some might not be familiar with the brand

RRP: £34.99

Sizes: S-XXXXXL

Colours: Mint/navy and black/charcoal

A really nice polo that stands out without being over the top. I had the navy and mint version, which felt fresh and ideal for spring, it’s a really good change from the usual plain colours.

It’s very comfortable to wear, with a lightweight feel and plenty of stretch, so there’s no restriction through the swing. The fit is as expected and sits nicely without feeling tight or too loose.

The digi camo design gives it a bit of personality, and I liked the fact the logo is subtle with just enough detail on the front and back without being too prominent. The fabric is breathable and moisture-wicking too, which helps keep things comfortable over a full round.

At the current price, it feels like great value for money, especially if you want something a bit different from a standard polo.

PROS

  • Comfortable, breathable stretch fabric
  • Fresh, standout design
  • Excellent value

CONS

  • Pattern might not suit everyone

RRP: £34.99

Sizes: S-XXL

Colours: White/navy, charcoal/black and navy/mint

Max Mcvittie

A bit of a late bloomer to the game of golf, Max fell in love with the sport when he attended Saturday coaching sessions down at his local golf club after being inspired by friends and family members.

Max has remained a member of Eden Golf Club in Carlisle for a number of years now as he looks to get his handicap down into single figures. Most of his golfing career has been spent battling a permanent slice off the tee, which has led to some ugly rounds.

Having studied at the University of Sunderland, Max is starting out his dream career in sports journalism. During his time at university, he picked up valuable work experience at Reach PLC, BBC Radio Cumbria and GiveMeSport, whilst also getting work published in the Teesside Live. He also spent time working at a local weekly newspaper, Eskdale and Liddesdale Advertiser, as a general news reporter partially covering some local sport just north of the border in Langholm.

Max has just started his journey with the NCG working as the assistant equipment editor. He looks forwarded to reviewing the latest golf equipment, taking up an interest in reviews when buying his first golf club, a Cleveland RTX wedge.

With his bag not going under too many changes throughout the last few years, Max carries an M3 driver, Titleist GT3 Fairway Wood, M2 hybrid, a set of M2 irons, Callaway Jaws wedges and a TaylorMade Spider putter. And yes, Max is a bit of a self-proclaimed TaylorMade fan boy.
