Under Armour Drive Tapered Pant
Under Armour trousers have been my go-to for the past couple of years. I just can’t seem to go wrong with the sportswear brand’s offerings when it comes to golf trousers, and these new UA Drive Tapered pants are no different. The Tapering makes the fit extremely comfortable without being overly baggy, which I find some golf trousers are guilty of being.
Additionally, they are equipped with Under Armour’s storm technology, which makes it water repellent for suitable all-year-round use.
In short, these are everything you would want from a pair of golf trousers, they look great, are comfortable to wear and you can wear them no matter the weather.

If you’re looking for a pair of water resistant trousers this winter then theUnder Armour Drive Pro could be the perfect choice.
These trousers are a lovely colour and material which feels comfortable to wear as well as being good quality.
The trousers are water resistant so they will keep you dry while out on the course, however there is a limit to their resistance, so if you do get caught in a full-on downpour, you might need to slip some waterproof trousers over for full protection.
The trousers also have plenty of pocket room, including a secret zipped pocket on the hip to keep something extra safe.

Under Armour ColdGear Infrared Tapered trousers
A great cold-weather, winter trouser option. They retain heat well in more blustery, cooler conditions to give improved insulation. Despite this, they still offer suitable breathability to stop overheating and enhance on course performance.
Offers fabulous comfort for both on course and casual wear. They fit nicely, with no need to size up or down. The taper fitting is a real plus and gives the trousers a more modern look, whilst still incorporating a classy appearance that would look at home on a golf course. Having a strecth engineered waistband widens its usability to supply a supreme fit.
For me these Under Armour Infrared tapered trousers are my ideal golf trousers. They have a neat fit, a modern but classy look, whilst still offering great performance benefits. These are a trouser that will get you through the cold months of winter, but I believe they can easily be worn in spring and summer as well.

Galvin Green Nixon Breathable Pants
If you are all about performance, then the best golf trousers need to offer a combination of comfort and flexibility so that you can concentrate on your game. The Galvin Green Nixon breathable pants are so lightweight and so comfortable to wear that you might even find yourself checking that you remembered to put a pair of trousers on when you got dressed earlier that day.
Perhaps their greatest virtue is that even though they are all about performance and breathability to keep you cool when the temperature rises, they are also hard-wearing and able to cope with the range of bending and stretching that is involved in playing golf – from hitting a full-blooded drive to squatting down to read a tricky putt.

TravisMathew Open To Close Pant
The TravisMathew brand was born in California in 2007 with the aim of creating golf gear for those seeking ultimate comfort with relaxed styling and a modern fit. It was bought by Callaway in 2017 and has been worn by the likes of Jon Rahm, when he won The Masters and US Open, as well as other Callaway staffers including Sam Burns and Akshay Bhatia. It’s also found favour with the likes of actors including Chris Pratt and Adam Sandler.
And the OTC (standing for ‘open to close’ whatever that means!) chino trouser comes in an ultra soft, lightweight and stretchy fabric constructed from 72% polyester, 20% cotton and 8% elastane. It feels wonderfully comfortable next to the skin, and the comfort is enhanced by a tailored yet relaxed slim fitting design.

The material is moisture wicking and breathable. I tested the version in ‘heather quiet shade’, which means pale grey. It is an absolute delight to wear on the course, with four roomy pockets and a choice of colours. The garment runs true to size, and has minimal logoing so, as is the case with all TravisMathew gear. This means that the OTC chino is just as suitable for leisure or work as it is on the course.
It comes highly recommended.

Adidas Ultimate365 5 Pocket Trouser
I had the pleasure of trying out Adidas Ultimate365 golf trousers in my favourite colour too, Navy!
These trousers were excellent quality, and they fit me perfectly. I’m a 32-32 inch, and they were sized just right. These are a preferred choice for myself, nicely tapered, which I really like in golf trousers and made from a lightweight stretchy material, which is great when you’re bending down to line up putts and to the general wear on the golf course. Available in seven colours, so you can really go to town with matching outfits.
They’re made from water-repellent material, so great if it looks like it may rain a little, no need to take waterproofs or worry about these getting slightly wet. Pockets at front and back, the front pockets are more like the pockets you get on jeans, rather than trousers. This was the first time I’ve had trousers like this, took time to get used to, but works quite well. Would suggest that these are mainly Spring, Summer and Autumn wear, as they will not offer you the best protection against the cold!

Puma Dealer Tailored Pant High Rise
The PUMA Tailored High Pant Rise are a very smart pair of trousers, that much is for certain.
I got mine in Ash Gray, which I don’t usually prefer over black or navy blue. But they grew on me the longer I wore them.
They were roomy around the ankles, so when considering comfort, there was no squeeze or pressure. This loose feeling is important to me on the golf course. The Tailored Pant High Rise are solid, and I’m not sure what more you could ask for, except delving into colour preference.
They have back and side pockets which bring obvious storage benefits.

Puma Dealer Jogger
I really like golf joggers. They have grown on me a lot in the last couple of years, so I’m a huge fan of the PUMA Dealer Jogger which I was lucky enough to have in navy blazer.
The navy blazer colour is my favourite, and it isn’t long after you put them on that you realise the performance fit. There are back and side pockets which bring obvious storage benefits and while walking on the golf course, I felt comfy and solid.
Any time you can bring a touch of the home comforts, as if you’re lounging in your leisure time, then this ticks a massive box.

Puma Cypress Softshell Trouser
The Puma Softshell Trousers are extremely comfortable. They might even be too roomy, which isn’t a problem, but it might become a problem if you play golf on a blustery day. Don’t play golf in the wind, then. But that’s tough in the Winter. Anyway, I got these in navy which looked really smart. Navy and black are my two favourite colours when it comes to golf clothing, so Puma ticked a box for me here.

There is a zip-pocket on each side. There are main pockets, but the zipped ones appear alongside which are useful for storage of tees and other things that stab the tips of your fingers. Some golfers might find this a bit fiddly and might not use the zip pockets at all. That isn’t Puma’s fault though.
£75.00 might be a bit steep for some golfers looking to spend a little less in this market, but they are still comfy, smart and a solid product.

Ping Sherwell Trouser
The Ping Sherwell Men’s Golf Trouser are extremely smart.
They are made from 100% polyester and have 2 front and 2 rear pockets. The gripper tape on the inside of the band helps to keep your shirt in place.
I liked their classic look but what set these apart for me is the fit and stretch. They are very light but not so much so that they feel insubstantial.
The stretch is absolutely fantastic and there was no restriction.
In addition to the stretch, Ping describe features such as moisture movement, quick dry and crease resistance. I would say the fit is true to size.
As someone who hates any sort of restrictive clothing when playing golf, these were an absolute winner for me.

Ping SensorWarm Winter Trouser
I have never owned a pair of winter golf trousers before. I tend to wear my summer chinos with some thermal leggings under and suffer feeling a bit like the Michelin man climbing up and down the hills at my home club.
The Ping SenorWarm winter trousers are a revelation for me. They are thick, have brushed fabric insides that help keep you warm, they are water and wind-resistant, so they are brilliant in any conditions.
The pocket configuration is superb with a hidden button on one of the back pockets, and a gripper strip in the other to stop your scorecard holder slipping out as you walk around the course.
There’s also a zip pocket inside one of the front pockets, and combine that with a waistband gripper to stop your shirt from untucking. These really are the ultimate trousers.
Thermal golf trousers are the future!

Lululemon ABC Slim-fit 5PKT Trousers
Another release from Lululemon in 2025 is the ABC slim fit pant.
These are smart, comfortable golf trousers which can also be worn off the course. On first appearance you would be forgiven for assuming they were just a standard pair of chinos, they don’t have that ‘shine’ which a lot of golf trousers do and just present as a normal pair of chinos.
Despite this, because of the four-way stretch material they are built with, it makes for an extremely comfortable wear for a round of golf.
I had no trouble at all with mobility and the two front and back pockets are a great size for storing all the necessary things needed for a round of golf.
I would definitely recommend these if you are in the market for a new pair of golf trousers.

Lululemon Daydrift Classic-Fit Trouser Regular
I tried these Lululemon golf pants and to be honest I was not expecting to like them as were more like a jogger than traditional golf trousers.
That being said, the classic (stretchy) fit gave me plenty of room around my thighs and glutes, which is a win for my stockier frame.
The four-way stretch and Lycra® made moving easy, and I didn’t feel restricted at all.
The quick-drying, sweat-wicking fabric kept me comfortable and felt cool to the touch—like I wasn’t even wearing them at times!
I especially liked the back pockets with press studs; they’re secure but not bulky.
The stretch waistband with a hidden drawcord was comfy and stayed put.
Overall, these pants exceeded my expectations, and I’ll likely be wearing them a lot on and off the course – I surprised myself how much I liked them but I appreciate they might not be for the traditionalist.

Stromberg trousers have always been a part of my wardrobe, and the Hampton Stretch Golf Trousers will certainly be added to that collection.
Made almost entirely from polyester, the Hampton Trousers tapered at the ankle, and they have been constructed to allow for stretching and flexibility, without any issues.
The rubber interior waistband helps to keep the trousers in the same place, and to hold your shirt in place, while the outer material has Scotchguard Protection, meaning they can repel water when needed.
They are an incredibly comfortable pair of trousers, and with four pockets – two at the front and two at the back – there is plenty of space to carry everything you need for a round of golf.

Peter Millar Men’s Surge Performance Trouser
I’m a big fan of the Peter Millar trousers and have previously reviewed the EB66 model. In comparison, the surge performance have a stretchier fit and a more casual vibe. I found that they clung a bit more around the lower part of my legs. Since I have a stockier build, those with slimmer legs might experience a different fit.
There is no doubt that once again the comfort was there whilst playing golf but so is the premium price. As someone who struggles to find decent trousers, I find the Peter Millar price is worth paying as they last and are quality – on and off the course.
One of the standout features of any Peter Millar trousers is their versatility; the transition effortlessly from golf course to everyday wear, making them an excellent all-round choice.

Peter Millar EB66 Performance Trousers
As someone who has a tennis score trouser measurement – forty/thirty – I do struggle to find trousers that are a good fit. On the rare occasions trousers are found then I instantly become a convert to that brand. As such before trying on these trousers I did not expect much & just thought it would be a case of ‘here we go again’, breathe in & brace yourself for the tight squeeze. To cut a long story short I am now a fully signed up member of the Peter Millar fan club. Everything about these trousers shouts out quality & comfort.
The first thing that is noticeable when putting them on is the comfortable stretch aspect to them. This is ideal, if like me, you might have to take a number of differing stances as you move between fairway, trees & rough! The 5 pocket feature is a nice touch (two back, two front + a smaller pocket in the front right) even if the smaller pocket I personally would not really find a use for.
I would be more than happy to wear these off the course, be it social or even work.
The trousers come in a good variety of colours and sizes & though it is a premium price (£125) they are a quality product.
The only thing to note is that these are a non-iron & dry clean product that are to be washed on a cold setting.

G/FORE Tour 5 Pocket 4 way stretch trouser
The G/FORE Tour 5 Pocket 4-Way Stretch Trouser, I have to say, are very impressive.
They’re extremely comfortable with a great fit, that kind of material that feels structured yet soft, with a touch of stretch. As a winter trouser, they feel surprisingly light but still keep you warm and well protected from the elements.
There’s really no need for waterproofs unless the rain gets heavy.
I’m a 32/32, and the medium fit me perfectly. They’re available in waist sizes 30–42 and leg lengths 30–34, so there’s a good range to choose from. I went for one of my favourite colours, Onyx (basically black), but they come in a variety of shades. I’ve got my eye on Twilight next, as the fit and feel are spot-on.
They’re not the cheapest pair of golf trousers out there, but having tried them, I’d say the quality more than justifies the price.
They look and feel premium, and I’ve no doubt they’ll last, so it’s all relative

Ashworth Tech Performance Pants
Ashworth have also included some technical performance pants to their Spring Summer release for 2025.
These are a great fit, they don’t sit too tight but also not baggy and heavy for a round of golf.
The design is also really clean, the Ashworth logo looks brilliant which just sits subtly on the back pocket. The simple style of these also makes them easy enough to wear off the golf course as well, they don’t have the ‘golf tech shine’ that a lot of pieces do nowadays which is good to see.
Around the course they were really comfortable, breathable and have large pockets to fit all the necessary items in. Overall, a really good staple for your wardrobe if you are in the market for some new golf trousers. Smart, comfortable and wearable on and off the golf course.

Abacus Men’s Mellion Stretch Trousers
Abacus is a Swedish golf apparel brand established over 30 years ago with a stated mission to make functional and smart clothing for the active golfer.
As well as providing us with a range of weather-resistant jackets and layers for the upper body, Abacus also supplies a vast range of legwear to keep you comfortable in all conditions.
Here we test the lightweight summer trouser from Abacus called the Mellion.
This has succeeded the excellent Kildare which was one of my favourite trousers from 2024. The material is a lightweight polyester weave which now has 9% Spandex (from 4%) for extra stretch, and I was struck by the softness of the fabric which produced a really comfortable fit. There is now an extra stretchy waistband with a gripper to keep your shirt in place. There are four roomy pockets with a small Abacus tab at the top of the right rear pocket.
I tested the version in navy, which is one of three colours available. The 32/30 fitted true to size. I might add that the style remains slim fitting but so these might not be the ideal gear for you retired prop forwards.
On the course, these lightweight, soft and stretchy trousers performed very well. The Drycool fabric offers wicking and breathability. I’ve also noticed that, if you do get caught in a shower, they dry pretty quickly, which is an added bonus.
I thought last year’s Kildare were just about perfect, but, if anything, the Mellion are that bit better. They come highly recommended!

Abacus Druids Windvent trousers
Abacus is a Swedish brand that has a strong tradition of producing weatherproof gear: so much so that they have clothed the last six European Solheim Cup teams.
They offer a range of trousers to suit all weather conditions. The Druids windvent trouser is designed for cold, windy, dry weather and it works admirably in this regard. They are made from a stretchable softshell fabric with a brushed inside. The fabric is water repellent but not waterproof.
They are certainly comfortable, quiet and they are extremely toasty. They have four roomy pockets and a two-button closure at the front. The only design feature I’d have liked to see is a gripper waistband.
You certainly won’t feel the cold in these trousers, and, although the fabric is badged as breathable, it’s possible to get too hot in less than Arctic conditions. And they aren’t really suitable to layer over with a waterproof due to the thickness of the garment. However, should I ever go on a golfing holiday to Scandinavia, then I’d be sure to pack these!

Castore golf joggers
These joggers surprised me as it was a first for me whereby an item reviewed is getting way more use off than on the golf course – maybe it is my age, as I hurtle towards 50!
At first glance, I thought they were waterproof trousers, thanks to their water-resistant and sleek feel.
Made from 85% Polyamide and 15% Polyurethane, they offer a lightweight, flexible fit thanks to woven stretch fabric, allowing for ease of movement.
The internal waist gripper is a great touch, while the elasticated cuffs and inseam zippers allow you alter as you see fit. Open side pockets are convenient for quick access, and the subtle Castore branding adds a stylish touch.
I found them perfect for morning and evening dog walks, watching my kids play sports, or even outdoor padel in cold, rainy weather. I could actually see these being a great option if you play a lot of muddy parkland type golf in the autumn/winter months.
While I probably wouldn’t wear them as golf trousers, their comfort, flexibility, and weather resistance make these joggers a surprisingly practical choice for everyday wear.

I am a massive fan of Glenmuir jumpers and polos but have never worn any of the trousers. I was therefore excited to see if I would be rating the trousers 5 out 5, just like the polos and jumpers.
There is no doubt the name of the trouser – namely lightweight and stretch – is spot on. They are unbelievably light in the hand and offer a good amount of stretch.
As someone who often struggles to get into trousers, due to my tennis score trouser measurements of forty-thirty, I am happy to report that for those of the more stockier build you will not have to squeeze into these trousers! This is down to the elasticated waistband and stretchable fabric.
As you begin walking you do notice they are quite noisy – similar to the sound that waterproof trousers give off when you walk. They are like a hybrid between a waterproof and stretchy golf trouser. This does not bother me whilst on the course but would put me off wearing them in social situations.
Overall these trousers are lightweight, stretchy, water repellent and are an ideal fit for those of a more stockier build. For those that like tartan then you are in luck as this is one of the four colour options. They are pricy but currently available at a good discount at The Golf Shop Online.
The only thing preventing me from giving them 5 out of 5 is the waterproof like noise they give off when walking and so might not be for all.

Ashurst Trousers
These winter trousers from Glenmuir are designed to defy typical winter weather. They are constructed from 96% polyester, with the addition of 4% elastane, to allow freedom of movement. There’s a brushed inner fleece fabric which offers windproof, thermal and breathable properties. To cap it all, there’s a Teflon DWR finish, so the Ashurst offers protection against the wind, the cold and rain showers.
I’m typically a 32-inch waist and short inside leg. The 32/29 size fitted me quite closely, which worked ok for my slender shape, but more solid individuals might prefer to go up a size. That said, these trousers offer a tailored look which is not always the case in this category of apparel.
On the course, the Ashurst is certainly comfortable and snug. I have tested it in showery and blustery conditions, and it has kept me warm and dry. I appreciated the four large pockets with some added detail around the two rear pockets for added visual interest.
I’m sure you’ll never feel the cold in these impressive trousers, and they will also work well in showery conditions. They would not be my choice if persistent rain is forecast and you’re likely to require a waterproof layer. In this case a lighter trouser would be more appropriate.
These trousers come highly recommended, are sensibly priced and are easy to care for.

FootJoy Regular Fit Trousers
Being shortish (5ft 10) and stocky trying to find trousers can sometimes be a bit tricky!
My derriere can sometimes present a real challenge to trousers hoping to stay in-tact after all the bending undertaken during a 3-4 hour round of golf!
Did the Footjoy Performance Trouser pass this sternest of tests?
There is no doubt these trousers provide a level of comfort and stretch that are superb for the stockier individual. In fact, I would go as far to say they are the most breathable golf trousers I have ever worn. As such, there is no need to size up as the fit is generous.
The stretch silicon gripper inside the waistband is also a great touch as it keeps the shirt in place when swinging the golf club.
Overall, Footjoy has truly hit the mark with these Performance Golf Trousers.
Not the cheapest trouser on the market but after wearing them I would have no qualms purchasing them due to their generous fit and comfort.

The Oscar Jacobson Bowen trousers are a tapered fit available in five different colourways.
I have always liked the apparel produced by Oscar Jacobson, a clean aesthetic, comfortable to wear and usable both on and off the golf course. These are no different, a great staple for your golfing wardrobe.
They are built from 100% polyester in a textured fabric which are very comfortable to wear and move around in. There is a simple OJ logo on the back of the trousers for some subtle branding and the tapered finish helps to smarten up your look.
A small but meaningful thought (for me), is pocket size and flexibility to get into, these tick the box – plenty of depth and elastic to to store everything you need and get into them easily. After all there’s nothing worse than emptying your pocket on the green to find your marker!
Overall a solid purchase if you’re in the market for some new trousers.

ProQuip Pro Tech Winter Tech Trousers
I wore the ProQuip WarmTec trousers during a chilly round of golf, and they were fantastic.
These trousers kept me warm without feeling bulky, thanks to their special thermal fabric. I was surprised at how breathable they were, so I didn’t feel sweaty or uncomfortable even as I moved around.
The four-way stretch gave me plenty of freedom to swing and walk comfortably. When a light shower started, I was glad they were water-repellent and kept me dry.
The silicone grip kept my shirt tucked in, which looked neat all round.
Overall, these pants made a big difference on a cold, damp day, helping me stay warm and comfortable.
The only downside for me was that they felt a bit too close to waterproof, so they were noisy when walking around indoors.
Still, I’d definitely recommend them for any golfer facing cooler weather.

I’ve got to say, I was genuinely surprised by these Callaway Winter Thermal Trousers.
I’ve never really considered thermal golf trousers before, but I decided to give them a try, and I’m glad I did!
Worn on the course, they kept me warm without feeling bulky, even during those chilly mornings. The fabric is surprisingly comfortable and flexible thanks to the mechanical stretch—no restrictions during my swing.
What really stood out was how versatile they are outside of golf. I’ve worn them on the touchline watching my kids play sport in freezing weather, and they’ve been fantastic—wind resistant, water resistant, yet still breathable.
They look smart enough for casual wear too, with a subtle embroidered logo. Overall, an unexpected but excellent addition to my winter wardrobe, blending style, comfort, and practicality both on and off the course.

These are like no golf trousers I have ever worn before. The best way I can describe them is as a hybrid of trousers and waterproof but that doesn’t really do them justice.
You know they’re different as soon as you pick them up. They’re heavyweight, they’re extremely robust – almost like a starchy quality – but the fabric is incredibly stretchy.
