Best Ping Golf Bags 2026

Ping Reserve Golf Stand Bag

National Club Golfer and National Club Golfer magazine
Ping Reserve stand bag | Source: NCG
Ping Reserve stand bag | Source: NCG

The Ping Reserve is a curious beast. It’s a decent size and offers a comfortable and balanced carry. It looks tremendous and offers some flexibility in that the apparel and valuables pocket is detachable.

It has the option of single or double strap.

However it is definitely on the heavy side, a bit cramped for a full set of clubs and does have an unusual pocket configuration.

As long as you are aware of these aspects, you may well be seduced by the handsome looks and this also does seem to be a bag that is robustly constructed and will give years of useful service.

PROS

  • PU leather looks fabulous.
  • Premium construction.
  • Comfortable (if heavy) carry.
  • Removable pocket option.

CONS

  • Curious pocket set up.

A Ping Hoofer golf bag to most golfer’s is an absolute classic. It’s a product that you almost don’t want to see change as it already ticks all of the boxes.

This years Ping Hoofer hasn’t changed much visually but it’s new colourway certainly caught my eye.

There are more pockets than ever it seems with 16 different places to store your belongings!

PROS

  • Comfortable to carry
  • Durable construction
  • Reasonable weight at 2.5kg
  • Clever rain hood storage

CONS

  • I will have to say goodbye to my old Hoofer
  • Not fully waterproof

Ping Hoofer Lite Golf Stand Bag

5 star review
best carry golf bags

Reviewed by Dan Murphy

If you’re looking for a new lightweight stand bag, then the search can end here. It has lots of pocket space and a comfortable dual strap, making it easy to carry around the course. I can tell that it is lighter than a full-size Hoofer but it feels just as tough. It’s a great buy.

My advice for all those who carry is to get themselves kitted out with a Ping Hoofer Lite and have total confidence that it will be a long-term investment in your golf game.

PROS

  • Rugged
  • Compact
  • Surprisingly capacious

CONS

  • I do like a secure, soft valuables pouch

RRP: £200 / $245

Colours: Light Blue / Dark Sea / Sunkiss; Sailor Red / Navy / White; Navy / Platinum / Red; Black; Black / Iron / Neon Yellow.

It offers a waterproof fabric and seam sealed pockets to keep out the elements.

There are a number of neat design features that make this bag a pleasure to use in poor weather conditions. It comes highly recommended.

PROS

  • Comfortable and balanced carry.
  • Durable construction.
  • Reasonable weight at 5.5lbs.
  • Clever, tethered rain hood.

CONS

  • Colour options lack flair

RRP: £265 / $330

Colours: Black/Red, Black/Blue, Black/Grey.

Ping Moonlander Carry Bag

5 star review

If you are looking for a small, lightweight golf bag with a stand, it is hard not to recommend this bag.

It is very compact but with enough storage to carry some extra clothing and all the paraphernalia necessary should the weather take a turn for the worse.

It has a quality feel to it and the pockets have been well designed. This is not simply a small bag with a couple of pockets thrown on for good measure.

I really like a small carry bag and for me this is the perfect “go-to” summer carry bag – one which I will be using a lot over the summer!

PROS

  • Compact
  • Good storage for a small bag
  • Can carry a full set

CONS

  • None

RRP: £149 / $219

Colours: White/Mr Ping, Black, Navy/Green (other colours available in USA)

Ping Traverse 2025 Cart Bag

5 star review
best golf cart bags

Reviewed by Gillon Fabbroni

I put this on my electric trolley and the recesses in the base made it sit very securely. The strap pass-through channels were well positioned and allowed for a neat appearance. I do like this feature on bags.

The size of cart bags means that space is rarely an issue and the two large side pockets provide ample storage. Inside each are 2 small pockets, one with a key clip. Both side pockets have smaller zip pockets on the outside for valuables etc.

The Ping Traverse cart bag absolutely stands up to others on its own merits. It is packed with well thought-out features with great ergonomics. Add to this the amazing price and it has to be a contender for one of the best value cart bags out now.

PROS

  • Good looks
  • Well thought-out storage
  • Fantastic value

  • None

Ping Pioneer 2025 Cart Bag

5 star review

It is hard to see past the Ping Pioneer 2025 Cart Bag in this category. You are getting a bag that is tough, smart, built to last and has an array of pockets to keep your kit in places where you can easily get to it. The way it sits snugly on trolleys and buggies is another real plus. You just can’t go wrong with one of these bags.

PROS

  • The storage capacity – including a useful insulated compartment – is exceptional
  • Typically thoughtful details like the clip-in valuables pouch and alignment-stick sleeves are a real winner
  • The build is solid – Ping bags always last well

CONS

  • None

About the author

Max Mcvittie

A bit of a late bloomer to the game of golf, Max fell in love with the sport when he attended Saturday coaching sessions down at his local golf club after being inspired by friends and family members.

Max has remained a member of Eden Golf Club in Carlisle for a number of years now as he looks to get his handicap down into single figures. Most of his golfing career has been spent battling a permanent slice off the tee, which has led to some ugly rounds.

Having studied at the University of Sunderland, Max is starting out his dream career in sports journalism. During his time at university, he picked up valuable work experience at Reach PLC, BBC Radio Cumbria and GiveMeSport, whilst also getting work published in the Teesside Live. He also spent time working at a local weekly newspaper, Eskdale and Liddesdale Advertiser, as a general news reporter partially covering some local sport just north of the border in Langholm.

Max has just started his journey with the NCG working as the assistant equipment editor. He looks forwarded to reviewing the latest golf equipment, taking up an interest in reviews when buying his first golf club, a Cleveland RTX wedge.

With his bag not going under too many changes throughout the last few years, Max carries an M3 driver, Titleist GT3 Fairway Wood, M2 hybrid, a set of M2 irons, Callaway Jaws wedges and a TaylorMade Spider putter. And yes, Max is a bit of a self-proclaimed TaylorMade fan boy.
