A Lim Kim is one of several Koreans to have won multiple LPGA Tour events, including a major championship.

Born in the Republic of Korea in 1995, it would not be long before Kim showed her qualities, turning professional while still a teenager in 2013. She played on the LPGA Tour of Korea for a number of years, with her first win coming in 2018 at the OK! Savings Bank Pak Se-ri Invitational. She won again in 2019, but her big break came following the COVID-19 pandemic.

At the postponed US Women’s Open, the Korean made her major championship debut. She went on to win the tournament by a single shot, marking her first win on the LPGA Tour as well – she was granted a tour card for the new season. Kim has gone on to win six times worldwide, including three times on the LPGA Tour, with her most recent win coming at the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions in February 2025. She also has top five finishes at three of the other four women’s majors.

Did you Know?

Winning on Major Debut

A Lim Kim made her major championship debut at the US Women’s Open in 2020. Incredibly, the Korean was five shots off the lead at the start of her final round, but shot her best round of the week to win by one shot over Jin Young Ko and Amy Olson.

2021 – The Major Cut Year

Following her incredible victory at the US Women’s Open the year before, Kim then missed the cut at all five major championships in 2021. She also missed the cut at the Chevron Championship in 2022, making it six straight missed cuts following her victory.

High of World No.30

Despite being a major champion and a six-time winner around the world, Kim’s highest position in the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings remains at World No.30.

Mention a European country, and Matt will tell you which resorts make the National Club Golfer Top 100s: European Resorts list. He might even throw in who designed the golf course and how many rooms the hotel has got at each one…

Matt got into the game of golf from a young age, following his old man to the local golf club. He fell for the sport, and now can’t seem to go a day without thinking about how to improve his game (Thanks Dad!). Matt has been a member of Howley Hall GC in Leeds since 2020, and is just about managing to maintain a single-figure handicap. He likes to remind people that he once broke 75, but won’t tell people that it was on a shortened course during the winter.

He moved to Leeds after graduating from the University of Central Lancashire with a First Class Honours degree in Sports Journalism. Matt joined NCG after almost five years travelling the world with the Professional Squash Association, working on events in all four corners of the globe.

Matt currently plays a Cobra King LTDx driver and RadSpeed 3-wood. TaylorMade monopolise the rest of his bag, with a SIM UDI, M5 irons and both Milled Grind and HI-TOE wedges, along with a Monza Redline putter. He uses a Vice Pro Plus golf ball, because he’s a bit different…

Away from golf, Matt is a Manchester United fan, and a keen runner, having ran the Rob Burrow Leeds Marathon (his first and possibly last), in May 2023.
