LIV Golf will be back in the UK in the week after The Open Championship, and JCB will resume hosting duties

In the week after The Open Championship at Royal Portrush, the LIV roster heads to the Midlands for the UK event at JCB Golf and Country Club.

It is one of the newest golf courses in England. It was opened in 2018 and is the work of Lord Bamford and Robin Hiseman. The venue has hosted events on the Rose Ladies Series, the Legends Tour and now LIV Golf.

The course is quite grand and in immaculate condition. The par 3-17th hole is the highlight as it stands well over 200 yards downhill into an island green.

At the preview day ahead of LIV Golf UK, ambassador and YouTube sensation Rick Shiels gave his verdict on the golf course:

“Firstly, it suits a tour event because of its location. There are lots of people coming from the north and the south, east and west! It’s literally in the centre of England. Two, it’s in immaculate condition. I’m lucky enough to play here a lot, but it’s one of the most pure golf courses you can imagine,” he said.

“There aren’t many tournament courses. LIV wants facilities, a wide driving range so it can accommodate 54 players who are about to tee off. You need places to put grandstands and hospitality tents and party holes, all of these things.

“JCB was built to host big events, that’s what it was built for. The idea of having the diggers on the tee markers and all of these things. This is what JCB, so it lends itself quite nicely.”

JCB will host the 11th event of the LIV Golf season. As per usual, in each LIV Golf event, the stars will be out, and it is the same roster of stars playing each week, including Jon RahmBryson DeChambeauBrooks KoepkaDustin JohnsonPhil MickelsonPatrick ReedCameron SmithTyrrell Hatton, Joaquin Niemann and Sergio Garcia.

Rahm won at JCB last year, beating Hatton, Smith and Niemann by one shot.

Frequently Asked Questions about LIV Golf UK

When and where will LIV Golf UK take place?

LIV Golf Dallas 2025 will take place from July 25-27. It will be held at JCB in the Midlands.

What does LIV Golf stand for?

LIV is the Roman numeral for 54 which is the number of holes played at each LIV Golf event. For 99% of golf tournaments, it is 72 holes.

How does LIV Golf work?

There are 13 regular LIV Golf events in the 2025 season with a team championship finale at the end in Michigan. At each event, there is an individual competition and a team competition.

The top 24 golfers on the 54-man leaderboards will score points. The top eight teams on the 13-team leaderboard score points. To no one’s surprise, the player with the lowest stroke play score after 54 holes wins the event.

In the team format, all players’ scores in each four-man team count for all three days of the event. Before 2025, only the top three scores from each team counted for the first two days, and all four counted for the final round.

Who owns LIV Golf?

The Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia, a sovereign wealth fund that is racing towards a trillion dollars in worth, is the primary investor of LIV Golf.

These riches would explain why the top stars have received huge sign-up fees, north of $100,000,000 in some cases, and why this start-up tour has made such a splash in the professional game.

How to watch LIV Golf on TV?

In the UK, the LIV Golf website says you can watch the action at each event on the LIV Golf+ App and now, you can watch the action for free on ITVX, the on-demand platform for ITV. In the United States, you can now watch LIV Golf across all Fox Sports channels.
