What’s new? How much do they cost? How do they perform? Nicola Slater brings you the low down on FootJoy’s Peforma Women’s Golf Shoe.
FootJoy are back with a brand new women’s golf shoe for 2024. The Performa golf shoes are a spikeless pair of golf shoes that offers, style, stability and practicality. Out of the box they look great, so I couldn’t wait to get them on the course to see how they performed…
These are some of the comfiest out of the box golf shoes that I have worn in years. They’re not packed with foam that needs bedding in, they have more of a firm footbed which is actually very enjoyable to walk on.
I love how athletic these shoes look. They’re very casual without looking out of place on a golf course. Having worn them during a wet round, they stood up to the waterproof test very well.
FootJoy Performa Women’s Golf Shoe Review: First Impressions
Out of the box, these are a fab looking pair of golf shoes. They offer a casual, athletic style thanks to the VersaTrax outsole which has a spikeless bottom. The sole is made up from small risen nibs that help to provide traction when playing.
The upper part of the shoe is made up of a plastic feeling material, that helps to provide a waterproof coating. The purple part of these shoes at the back and around the heel is leather for reinforcement.
If the purple and grey colourway isn’t for you, FootJoy offers the Performa golf shoes in White/Blue and Cream/Beige/Multi.
NCG Verdict
Out on the course I really couldn’t fault these shoes. Prior to testing this grey and purple pair, I had recently purchased the white and blue colourway. I had worn these shoes during multiple practice sessions and rounds, slowly falling more in love with them. I even took them for a spin during a recently 36 hole competition, (both rounds on the same day) and walked off after 9 hours of golf with very happy, non-painful feet.
I’m a standard UK 7.5 in shoes through most brands. These FootJoy shoes are the perfect fit for my feet. In the first pair I got I have the standard width which does offer a nice amount of room in the toe box however this pair in the purple/grey is a wide pair which offers even more room. The wide pair doesn’t narrow as much from toe to heel as the standard pair, but both fit well.

A huge factor to consider when buying golf shoes is the all important question of, are they waterproof? To answer that question simply, yes they are! I ventured out wearing the Performa golf shoes for a glorious round in rain and mud. Having got pretty wet and walked in some thick wet grass, my feet were still very dry and comfortable. For added piece of mine these shoes do come with a one year waterproof guarantee.
Sticking to the playing in the wet theme, I wasn’t sure how these shoes would fair in terms of stability with them being spikeless. I was pleasantly surprised that I haven’t had any slips during shots. Walking around the course I found these shoes to be very grippy and enjoyed a nice amount of ankle stability from them despite not looking like they sit overally high.
The Performa women’s golf shoes have a casual feel as previously mentioned and so I could feel very comfortable wearing these too and from the golf course, popping into the shop I wouldn’t look out of place. They would also fit in very well in the clubhouse, if allowed.
To conclude, these shoes quickly became a personal favourite of me. I really loved how they were comfy from the get go and I didn’t have to walk around my house for days trying to bed them in. I loved how after a venture into the mud they cleaned up both easily and well so that’s a huge win.
