NCG’s Equipment Awards 2018
Best golf clubs 2018: Irons
1. Mizuno JPX919 Forged
Ticks all the boxes for me. Look and feel fantastic, good distance and forgiveness but still plenty of precision and control.
I wish I was good enough to play the 919 Tour because they are the best looking irons on the market in my opinion.

2. Ping i500
As soon as I learned Ping were bringing these out I knew they would be right up my street.
They look sensational and are pure rocket launchers.
They produced some of the best iron numbers of the year and all in a package which would make me look forward to playing golf every day.

3. TaylorMade P760
Full marks to TaylorMade for introducing this set which aims to offer the forgiveness and distance of the P790 in the long irons but with blade-like precision and feel in the short irons.
I actually got fitted into a combo set of these and the P790 in the 5- and 6-iron.
But the sound, feel and performance of the 7-AW in the P760 is fantastic.
