Our Motocaddy S1 trolley review took place on the course at Moor Allerton.

Motocaddy S1 trolley review: First impressions

Motocaddy have updated their S-Series range for 2019. That includes refreshing the S1 trolley, which has updated styling and graphics including the new graphite colouring. It’s a simple and clean look that makes you think the trolley will be really easy to get up and running.

Motocaddy S1 trolley review: The technology

The stand-out feature of the Motocaddy S1 trolley is the ‘Quikfold’ mechanism designed to make the trolley simple and easy to use by allowing it to go up and down in one smooth motion.

The S1 also features a new super-lightweight Lithium battery which can be left in the battery tray for both charging and transportation. Motocaddy are taking all the fiddle and hassle out of an electric trolley here, which is great news.

Motocaddy S1 trolley review

The Easilock bag-to-trolley connection system is a real winner – it allows any Motocaddy bag to connect directly onto the trolley and snap into position to prevent the bag coming loose and moving around.

A new high-resolution, sunlight-resistant LCD screen is featured in the handle of the trolley for easy viewing in all conditions.

The trolley also includes a powerful, super-quiet 200W motor, a soft-touch ergonomic handle and fully-adjustable bag supports.

So that’s the lowdown on the Motocaddy S1, but how did it perform? Hannah gives her verdict on the next page…

Motocaddy S1 trolley review: The results

The best part of this trolley is the ‘Quikfold’ mechanism making it really easy to set-up this trolley. I would say this is the easiest and fastest trolley I have tested to assemble and dissemble. It goes up and down in one simple motion.

I really like the fact you can charge your battery while it is still in the trolley meaning you no longer need to be constantly removing and replacing your battery.

With a standard carry bag I often find myself constantly readjusting my bag on the trolley throughout the round. The easilock bag-to-trolley connection system ends this problem as your bag clicks into place and stays there securely throughout your game.

Motocaddy S1 trolley review: NCG verdict

This trolley is really easy to use, is super-lightweight and the styling looks great, especially when paired with the new Aquaflex bag.

If you want something that is really simple and easy to set-up but it also sturdy and performs great on the course, put this on your list of trolleys to try before you buy.

Motocaddy app

Motocaddy have updated its free GPS app to incorporate potential lifesaving features that indicate the location of on-course defibrillators and provide golfers with CPR instructions to administer to anyone suffering a cardiac arrest when playing golf.

Motocaddy M-Tech trolley review

The app features a simple six-step guide showing you how to perform CPR. This is easily accessible within the main menu and via a red heart logo on the app’s Play Golf screen.

Should a defibrillator be available at the course, the app will display an AED logo, which features emergency phone numbers to call for help. Instructions on how to access the defibrillator will be shown, as well as using GPS to show the golfers location.

The app can also be paired with any Motocaddy connect trolley model to offer optional smartphone notifications direct to the trolley handle.
