Which are the best electric golf trolleys 2018?
We’ve now seen all the main trolley manufacturers release their new electric models for the season.
It’s a very competitive market with each brand trying to offer something a bit different.
This can be quite difficult as the reality is that a golf trolley is a fairly simple piece of kit. Simple in the sense that they are all attempting to do the same thing.
And they are all very good, well-made products.
So to set themselves apart with often see innovations in the way the trolleys fold away, what bells and whistles they have on the screens and how small, light and efficient the batteries are.
They are not like drivers where we can judge them on how far or how fast they they are. We are often judging them on convenience and ease of use. How easy are they to get to and from the golf course? How long does the battery last?
Another thing that can set a trolley brand apart is the after-sales customer service. How good are they at dealing with faults? What sort of guarantees and warranties to they offer?
Anyway, we’ve picked out the best new trolleys on the market for 2018 to help you decide which might best suit your needs.

Best electric golf trolleys 2018: New Motocaddy M-range
If you’re tight on boot space then check out the all-new compact M-range which also includes integrated GPS technology for the first time.
Motocaddy say the folded size of each of their new M trolleys is 11 percent smaller than their nearest rivals.
The batteries are also smaller and lighter than ever.
The M5 Connect syncs with the free Motocaddy mobile app to give smartphone notifications and distance data.

We were big fans of this technology when it was introduced for the first time in the S5 connect.
It gave us the information we wanted but allowed us to keep our phones tucked away in our bags. If we were waiting for an important call, we could have notifications pushed through to the screen.
If we didn’t want to be disturbed, we could turn all notifications off.
It would always be my preference to not get my phone out during a round because before I know it I’ve been distracted by all kinds of social media messages, emails and texts. And my golf suffers because of it.
So it’s no surprise to see this technology added to the M5 Connect as well as the Cube Connect push trolley.
If you’re not bothered about GPS yardages but still like a bit of tech on your trolley screen the all-new M3 Pro is loaded with special features such as distance measurement and adjustable distance control.
The brand new M1 model is the easiest-to-use and is also available with downhill control (DHC).

Best electric golf trolleys 2018: Powakaddy Compact C2i
The Powakaddy Compact C2 was our favourite new trolley in 2017.
It was a fantastic piece of kit which folded away with ease, looked fantastic and ran like a dream out on the course.
Powakaddy knew they were on to a winner so have just made a few tweaks to the original model for the new C2i.
It has a new 2.8in colour screen which adds to the premium look and feel.

The entry-level FW3 is now the FW3s which incorporates a new 2.3in full-colour widescreen display, digital power gauge and battery fuel indicator.
There’s also a new FW5s which features a 2.8in mid-size full colour widescreen display and USB charging port.
The FW7s GPS has a stunning gunmetal finish.

Best electric golf trolleys 2018: Golfstream Vision
The new Vision trolley has been a few years in the making and after getting our hands on it we think it has been worth the wait.
It has a very simple ‘one-fold’ mechanism which is then kept together with a magnetic strip.
But it’s the new screen which sets it apart as it’s incredibly clear and easy to read even in the bright sunshine.
Overall, this is a no-nonsense and very user-friendly option which is available in four colours.

Best electric golf trolleys 2018: Powerbug Lite
The all-new Powerbug Lite lithium electric trolley represents fantastic value for money in a market that can seem a little bit harsh on the wallet.
