Introduction

Powakaddy offer three different series of electric trollies, the FX, RX and then CT. CT is the compact range, that folds down to a size that is 35% smaller than its nearest competitor on the market. CT is offered in five different variations but I got my hands on the GPS model. Let’s see how it performs out on the course in my PowaKaddy CT10 GPS electric trolley review…

First Impressions

Out of the box, the CT10 GPS was folded in to a small neat package. It’s always a mission trying to get golf trollies to fit in the car with golf clubs and everything else so this will certainly make my life easier.

Putting the CT10 up is a two step system. A small price to pay for a trolley thats 35% smaller than its nearest competitor on the market. The wheels can be turned around for a smaller fold, so those must come back the correct way when putting up. Then, unlock the front wheel to form what looks like a standard size folded trolley before pulling the handle up lock the rest.

Sitting on the handle is a 3.5” full colour portrait touchscreen display. This gives a full hole view, that now has a 50% larger viewing area than before. This gives you access to 40,000 courses around the world. Powakaddy offers this as standard with no annual fees or subscriptions.

The battery is Powakaddy’s Plug’n’Play™ battery system. This sits really nicely in the body of the trolley. It’s also pretty light for a golf battery.

NCG Review

Having not had to fight to fit the CT10 in my car we were off to a flying start. Putting it up was nice and easy too.

Heading to the first tee CT10 GPS automatically locates which golf course you are on so you don’t need to worry about setting it up. The screen display was bright and clear. It was also easy to use, pressing on the screen you could move the marker to get a distance anywhere on the hole.

The GPS has some other useful features, including the drop flag technology. This means that you can move the flag to the location of the day to get more accurate distance. Directional attack feature will find the flag even if you physically can’t see it. Active hazard view helps to show the hazards, working to develop a strategy around them. And, simply front, middle and back numbers help going into the greens. These are all features I find useful on a handheld GPS but it was really convenient to have these in front of me as I was going around. It was also great to look at as I walked up to my ball or to double check my strategy before a shot.

Performance wise, the Powakaddy CT10 has nine different power speed settings. The dial on the handle has anti-tamper cover to stop those times you might accidentally turn the trolley on. It was really light to handle and easy to manoeuvre.

The CT10 GPS has a handy USB-C if you need to charge anything during your round.

The trolley also comes with a Mag-Lok device, this works well with PowaKaddy cart bags so that it can slot onto the trolley. This means that you don’t need to use the straps to keep your bag in place as it’s already locked in. Basically, it can then never fall off.

A scorecard feature on the screen allows you to keep up to date with your performance, giving par, stroke indexes and yardage. Your score can then be viewed in the Powakaddy app. A lost ball timer allows you to keep within the rules.

Final thoughts

Overall, the CT10 offers any serious golfer a full package. The trolley folds down incredibly small, whilst also handling with great ease out on the course. The GPS adds lots of extra features, displaying everything you’d need to know for a great round of golf.

If you’re still unsure on which trolley to choose Powakaddy has a useful trolley selector tool to help you feature out which is best for you HERE.
