Adidas golf shoes review: Parley Tour 360 XT
We all like to do our bit to save the planet, now Adidas have taken it a step further with their brand new Parley Tour 360 XT shoes. In collaboration with environmental organisation, Parley for the Oceans, Adidas have created a shoe made wholly from upcycled plastic waste that has been removed from beaches and the ocean.
This special edition shoe utilises repurposed and upcycled plastic waste. This waste is then transformed into thread, used to make high-performance sportswear, which makes up the entire upper of the shoe. Each pair of Parley shoes prevents approximately 11 plastic bottles from entering our oceans, which I think we can all agree is good news.
The unique ocean blue and aqua green colourway gives a nod to the plastic in the shoe which has been retrieved from ocean landscapes.
The Adidas Parley shoe is built on the Tour 360 XT outsole so golfers will still experience superior traction and stability while knowing that as they walk the course they are helping protect the oceans. The Tour 360 XT Parley features a sock-like opening for optimal comfort while also offering full-length boost, for ultimate cushioning during your game.
We are set to see a selection of Adidas athletes competing at the 2019 US Open at Pebble Beach in the new shoes.

Adidas golf shoes review: Tour 360 XT
Now with both a cleated and spikeless shoe option Adidas have expanded the Tour 360 range to provide a shoe for everyone. As always with Tour 360 straight away you can see they have an eye-catching modern design.

We have seen already seen many tour players make the switch to the new model and wear the spikeless version including Dustin Johnson and Xander Schauffele.
One of the key features of the new Adidas Tour 360 XT is the TPU outsole. A new eight-spike execution is combined with the X-Traxion secondary lugs for additional grip and stability. Adidas have removed two spikes in this new version, this allows for increased flexibility but also an increase in comfort by decreasing the weight of the shoe.
Players will appreciate full-length boost in the midsole, providing unparalleled energy return and even more comfort throughout the round. The Boost pieces in the heel and forefoot are now slightly wider and move through larger expansion holes on the bottom to improve both stability and comfort. The new boost cushioning has a lower-profile execution for improved aesthetics while also giving players a better feel with the ground.
The new range gets its name due to the X-shaped traction system on the sole of the shoe. The X-shaped lugs provide more stability as they increase ground contact due to their eight-sided touch points with the ground. The traction system is designed to provide the best grip without sacrificing any comfort.
The Tour 360 XT SL is the first spikeless Tour 360 shoe from Adidas. The sole features the X-Traxion lug system. The X-shape lugs also vary in height, allowing for some lugs to go deeper into the ground, which adidas found to help increase overall traction.
The shoe also uses the X-Torsion system through the midfoot to provide more stability throughout the swing. The X-Torsion system features an X-shape, connecting the heel and forefoot, which is visible through the TPU outsole.
The range features a new insite sockliner for improved stability and balance by cupping the heel and promoting better posture. The whole range also comes with a minimum of one-year waterproof warranty.
Straight out of the box these are very eye-catching. They are clean and stylish, and when it comes to making great looking shoes, no one does it better than Adidas.
In terms of comfort, these are the best shoes Adidas have ever made and the popular ‘Boost’ technology really puts a spring in your step.

Adidas golf shoes review: Forgefiber
Just when I thought the Tour 360 was the best-looking golf shoe I’d ever seen, a pair of the Adidas Forgefiber land at NCG Towers.
Forgefiber is a technology utilising TPU-coated yarn, it helps improve stability in strategically targeted areas of the upper, when stitched at various angles and in layers.
Beyond just the distinctive stitching process, the TPU yarns are also compressed and heated, this melts the yarns into the textile upper of the shoe creating more natural support. It also keeps the shoe light by reducing the amount of materials needed. The stitching pattern produces a unique aesthetic and texture across the upper of the shoe.
The Forgefiber BOA has a spikeless outsole made up of the X-Traxion system that we also see in the Tour 360 XT SL. The shoe also features full-length boost and a insite sockliner that offers comfort and added stability. The heel and forefoot are connected through the Torsion X stability bar so that players can have that locked-in feel for every shot.
The new footwear also incorporates the TX4 Boa Fit System that features a soft, textile lace, which goes perfectly with the textile upper. The FormTX lace guides are designed to be softer and more comfortable.

These shoes are really eye-catching and have a great sporty style. I love the contrasting colours used on these shoes to make them really stand out. The blue detailing around the base of the shoe in the stitching is a really nice extra detail which gives stand out factor.
The Forgefiber technology combined with the BOA closure system provides an exceptionally fit which made me feel really stable when hitting shots. This is a really comfortable shoe that provides great support for the foot no matter what terrain you find yourself on.
