A host of leading names from across sport, entertainment and golf have united to throw their support behind Prostate Cancer UK’s Big Golf Race for 2026, as the charity looks to build on the success of its flagship fundraising challenge.
Major winners, Ryder Cup heroes and some of the game’s most recognisable personalities have joined forces to help raise awareness of prostate cancer.
The challenge encourages golfers to take on this endurance test of playing 36, 72 or even 100 plus holes in a single day.
At the forefront of the campaign is Danny Willett, Lee Westwood and Ian Poulter, who headline a star-studded promotional push that has already reached a combined global audience of more than 17 million people.
They are joined by a wide-ranging cast including Matt Wallace, broadcaster Gabby Logan, former Scotland international Kenny Logan, YouTube golf stars Rick Shiels and Dan Grieve, as well as Charley Hull and England Lioness Ella Toone.
The campaign also features familiar faces outside of golf, including DJ Spoony and actors Oliver Phelps and Jamie Phelps.
A big success
Since launching in 2020, the Big Golf Race has raised more than £6 million, becoming the charity’s most successful golf initiative.
Willett, the 2016 Masters champion, believes the challenge has struck a chord with golfers across the country.

“The challenge has made a massive impact for men affected by prostate cancer and their families and has helped to drive awareness among golfers and golf clubs across the country,” he said.
“We’ve had young golfers, professionals and golfers on YouTube picking up their clubs and saving lives with every swing, and I hope this year’s challenge is the biggest yet.”
Prostate cancer is the most common form of cancer found in men in the UK. One in eight men will be diagnosed with Prostate Cancer, and former world number one Lee Westwood also spoke about the role golf clubs can play in raising awareness.

The LIV Golf star opened up about his worries: “As a man in my early 50s, I know it’s important for me to be aware of my risk of prostate cancer and the steps I can take.
“The golf community has backed Prostate Cancer UK brilliantly and I hope to see even more golfers out on the course this summer, continuing that support and raising money to help save lives.”
More than just a challenge
For Kenny Logan, who was successfully treated for prostate cancer in 2022, the event carries a deeper personal meaning.
“When you’re out playing golf, you’re comfortable and can chat and open up to your mates. I didn’t take up golf until I was 14, but I love it,” said Logan. “I’ve said that since I recovered from prostate cancer, I want to play more golf, and The Big Golf Race is a great challenge.”

Participants who sign up will receive a fundraising pack. Those who raise over £250 will be entered into a draw to win a golfing holiday at Aphrodite Hills resort in Cyprus, while the overall top fundraiser will win an ultimate golf package worth £2,000, courtesy of Titleist.
Backed in 2026 by clothing retailer Charles Tyrwhitt, the initiative continues to expand its reach, both in terms of participation and awareness. Tyrwhitt is offering those who take part a 20% discount store-wide.
