WGC-Match Play Championship bracket bets: Who will come out of the groups?
WGC-Match Play Championship bracket bets: Tiger on the prowl
Lots of golf doesn’t do the GOAT any good these days. So even if he does get out of the bracket, it’s tough to see how he will cope with all that competitive action over five days – though he’ll definitely appeal to some at 30/1 on the outrights.
He was once absolutely formidable at this form of the game – remember his ruthless takedown of Stephen Ames – but last year’s Ryder Cup, while admittedly an event where he hasn’t got the best record, laboured the point that he’s gettable now in man-to-man combat.
Woods is 11/8 to get out of his group but that’s not a certainty with the likes of Brandt Snedeker and Patrick Cantlay lurking.
Sneds, in particular, showed some definite signs of life at The Players and if that putter gets on a roll, Tiger’s dreams of victory could be left in tatters.
