Vic Open betting tips: Top tips
With many of the Tour’s big guns having stayed at home, good recent form could prove hugely important this week.
Jason Scrivener fits the bill and the Aussie could prove value – even though he’s the 12/1 market leader.
His 2019 season has been a story of high finishes, with tied 3rd at the Hong Kong Open, followed by a top 10 at the Australian PGA Championship.
Scrivener’s top 20 at the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship, and his top 10 in Dubai, was achieved in much higher company than he is facing here.
With 11 of his 16 competitive rounds in the 60s this year, we’re going to need a big off week for him not to be around the principles.
When you also consider he also recorded six birdies and an eagle round this 13th Beach course in a 64 in 2015, on his way to finishing just outside the top 10, he could be each-way money to nothing.
Justin Harding closed with a 63 at the Saudi International and the 25/1 shot is definitely a player on the up.
Rounds of 72 and 70 preceded that fabulous knock but the South African opened with 65 after finishing off in Dubai with 63 as well.
There are some very low rounds in his form this season – in fact he’s only failed to break 70 on five occasions. Finishes of T14-4-T71-T7-T11 looks very good in this field.
Now 80th in the world, big things await if the 22-year-old can continue this fantastic start to 2019.
Scott Hend found a second round 63 at King Abdullah Economic City last week and backed that up with 69 and 67 to bag a big pay-day.
Also in the top 10 at Hong Kong at the end of last year, the Australian could make prices of 35/1 look very reasonable on Sunday.
