If it feels like it hasn’t been that long since we last watched a US Women’s Open – it’s because the last was played in December when A-Lim Kim won her maiden major in spectacular fashion at Champions Golf Club. Am I expecting her to retain her title? Before I reveal who I think will play well this week, here is all the information you need…

Players will need to take advantage of the three par-5s if they want to post a low number, with a solid short game essential for success here.

US Women’s Open betting tips
Bazza’s Banker: Inbee Park @ 11/1 with Bet365
When looking for a banker in a strong betting market, major championship pedigree can go a long way. Park certainly fits the bill in that department, as a seven time major champion including twice at the US Women’s Open in 2008 and ’13. Park is having another fantastic season so far, with three top-5 finishes in her last five starts including when winning at the Kia Classic. Park also currently ranks 6th for Driving Accuracy, 1st for Putting Average, and 1st for Scoring Average on the LPGA Tour this season. Despite being short in the market, I cannot find many reasons to oppose Park here.
Jessica Korda @ 16/1 with Bet365
The elder Korda is one of the most exciting talents on the LPGA Tour, and with six LPGA Tour victories to her name it won’t be long until she starts adding major championships to her resume. Her most recent win came earlier this season at the Tournament of Champions, another strong field event, and with a runner-up and 3rd-place finish in her last two starts she arrives in great form. Korda ranks 4th for GIR, 7th for Putts-per-GIR, and 5th for Scoring Average this season, highlighting the all round strength in her game. At a reasonable price, she certainly represents some each-way value.
Sophia Popov @ 55/1 with Bet365
Since winning the 2020 Women’s Open, Popov has gone from strength to strength. A 2nd-place finish at last week’s LPGA Match Play in Las Vegas means she arrives this week in great form, and on a tricky track she certainly has the pedigree to warrant selection. Three top-10 finishes this season indicate the progress she is making on the LPGA Tour, and when you consider that she beat major champions Inbee Park and Patty Tavatanakit on her way to the final last week she is certainly worth chancing at a big price.
