For the first time in the history of the US Women’s Open, it will be played over two courses, with three rounds on the club’s Cypress Creek course, and the one on the Jackrabbit course. Here’s everything you need to know…
Venue: Champions Golf Club, Texas, USA
Date: December 10-13, 2020
Course stats: Par 71; 6,731 yards (Cypress Creek) and Par 71; 6,558 yards (Jackrabbit)
Course summary: Both courses are tough, with Cypress Creek expected to play slightly harder. US Open standard rough is the main defence, along with water in-play on at least half of the 36 holes. Large and fast Bermuda greens will test the players prowess with the flatstick, and creative scrambling will be required to bail out the players when trouble inevitably comes.
Purse: $5.5 million
Defending champion: Jeong-eun Lee (-6)

US Women’s Open Championship betting: Top tips
Jin-Young Ko – 4pt e/w @ 18/1 with bet365
World No 1 Jin-Young Ko arrives in fantastic form this week, with three top 5s and one top 10 in her last five events. Four wins and two runner-up finishes in 2019 emphasise why she is so well regarded in world golf, and considering she is only 6th favourite in the betting market she certainly represents value. In that incredible 2019 season, Ko ranked 1st for Scoring Average, 1st for GIR, 5th for Putts per GIR, and 9th for Driving Accuracy. All of those measures will be important this week.
Ariya Jutanugarn- 1pt e/w @ 80/1 with bet365
Despite a below-par run of recent form, with just one top 10 in her last nine starts, I like the price of former champion Jutanugarn as she has some respectable US Open form in recent years. The 2018 winner is currently ranked 25th in the Rolex Rankings, and has finished inside the top 25 in the last three renewals of this famous major championship. Jutanugarn’s all round game is pretty consistent, ranking inside the top 30 for Driving Distance, inside the top 10 for Putting Average, and hits 70% of GIR. If Jutanugarn wants to add another major she will need things to click for her, but in an unpredictable season it could pay to side with a dependable former champion who knows how to succeed at this type of test.
