Amundi Evian Championship Betting Tips

It’s the fourth major of the year for the LPGA’s finest. Who wins at the Evian Resort, though?

The fourth women’s major of the year is already here, but who are our betting tips for the glory at the Amundi Evian Championship?

So far, Nelly Korda has been victorious at the Chevron Championship, Yuka Saso won the US Women’s Open and Amy Yang ended her major drought with success at the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship.

The Amundi Evian Championship is the fourth women’s major of the 2024 campaign, and will be held (as always) at the Evian Resort in France.

Players from both the Ladies European Tour and the LPGA Tour will be in action in France, aiming to get their hands on the trophy.

Home favourite Celine Boutier delighted the crowds last year as she became the first Frenchwoman to win a major championship in her home nation. Can she do it again this week?

Who will win? Matt Coles takes a look at some of his favourites for the second women’s major of the year…

Amundi Evian Championship golf betting tips and preview

Venue: Champions Course at Evian Resort, Evian-les-Bains, France
Date: July 11-14, 2024
Course stats: Par 72, 6,693 yards
Defending champion: Celine Boutier (-14)

Brooke Henderson @ 22/1 with bet365

That price for someone who has finished in the top two at this event in the last two years is ridiculous!

Brooke Henderson was the victor at the Amundi Evian Championship in 2022, securing her second major title. That win included a pair of 64s to start the week, and she never looked like being caught.

A year later, and aiming to defend her title, the Canadian would have possibly won again had it not been for the sheer brilliance of home favourite Celine Boutier.

Henderson also has six top ten finishes so far in 2024, including a T8 at the Dow Championship alongside Lexi Thompson in her last outing. The Canadian also has three top-threes, including a T3 result at the Chevron Championship. Could she do it again at another major? Henderson is 22/1 to do so.

Leona Maguire @ 33/1 with bet365

After securing her maiden victory on the Ladies European Tour, could Ireland’s Leona Maguire go back-to-back and win a first major championship?

Leona Maguire player profile

Maguire already had two LPGA Tour victories prior to last week, but an eagle on the 54th hole at the Aramco Team Series – London, saw her catapult herself into the lead. It was one she held on to, winning by a single shot for her first LET victory.

She also holds the joint-record for the lowest round in a major, thanks to her 61 at the Evian Resort back in 2021. It is a place she enjoys playing at, and could it be the scene of the first female Irish major champion?

Alison Lee @ 60/1 with bet365

Alison Lee golf betting tips

Alison Lee loves the Aramco Team Series. She proved that again last week in London with a T3 finish alongside Lauren Walsh and Georgia Hall. Can she bring that form into this week at the Amundi Evian Championship?

Her first appearance at the tournament yielded a T6 result, one that remains her best in a major. She has missed the cut at two of the three previous majors so far in 2024, but could this be the week that changes?

Lydia Ko @ 80/1 with bet365

Admittedly, it has not been the best of years for New Zealand’s Lydia Ko. After winning the Hilton Vacations Tournament of Champions on the LPGA Tour at the start of the year, the Kiwi’s results have gone somewhat downhill.

She only has two other top-five finishes, and they both came early on in the year. Ko also only has one top-20 finish in the majors so far in 2024, but the Kiwi knows how to get the job done on the biggest of stages.

Ko is a two-time major champion, including a victory at the Evian Championship back in 2015. At 80/1, I would argue that the former World No.1 is a good bet. If she is going to return to form anywhere, why not at a place that she has won a major before?

Morgane Metraux @ 250/1 each way with bet365

Switzerland’s Morgane Metraux is my outside bet this week, and again, it’s another European in red-hot form.

She was victorious at this very venue earlier this season, winning the Jabra Ladies Open on the Ladies European Tour, her second win on the LET.

That booked her place in the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship, where she made the cut. Could the Swiss star cause a shock and make the placings? At 250/1 each way, why not chuck a few quid on Metraux this week?

Other Big Name Odds

9/1 – Nelly Korda
12/1 – Atthaya Thitikul
14/1 – Lilia Vu
16/1 – Ally Ewing, Jin Young Ko
25/1 – Linn Grant, Hyo-Joo Kim
33/1 – Celine Boutier, Rose Zhang
35/1 – Hannah Green, Charley Hull, Minjee Lee
40/1 – Allisen Corpuz, Georgia Hall
45/1 – Yuka Saso
60/1 – Amy Yang
66/1 – Patty Tavatanakit

Nelly Korda – the World No.1 – has missed the cut at the last two majors, but she remains the favourite for glory this time round at the Evian Resort. She is 9/1 to win come Sunday evening.

Mention a European country, and Matt will tell you which resorts make the National Club Golfer Top 100s: European Resorts list. He might even throw in who designed the golf course and how many rooms the hotel has got at each one…

Matt got into the game of golf from a young age, following his old man to the local golf club. He fell for the sport, and now can’t seem to go a day without thinking about how to improve his game (Thanks Dad!). Matt has been a member of Howley Hall GC in Leeds since 2020, and is just about managing to maintain a single-figure handicap. He likes to remind people that he once broke 75, but won’t tell people that it was on a shortened course during the winter.

He moved to Leeds after graduating from the University of Central Lancashire with a First Class Honours degree in Sports Journalism. Matt joined NCG after almost five years travelling the world with the Professional Squash Association, working on events in all four corners of the globe.

Matt currently plays a Cobra King LTDx driver and RadSpeed 3-wood. TaylorMade monopolise the rest of his bag, with a SIM UDI, M5 irons and both Milled Grind and HI-TOE wedges, along with a Monza Redline putter. He uses a Vice Pro Plus golf ball, because he’s a bit different…

Away from golf, Matt is a Manchester United fan, and a keen runner, having ran the Rob Burrow Leeds Marathon (his first and possibly last), in May 2023.
