Dubai Desert Classic betting tips: Who’s going to win?
Bernd Wiesberger (25/1) came close to winning the season-long Race to Dubai last year and picked up where he left off in Abu Dhabi.
He’s the man for the Rolex Series events and played in the final group on Sunday and, while he was only able to manage a tied-8th, it’s enough proof for me that his game is still in top shape and this bodes well in a Ryder Cup year.
Add to this that he had two consecutive top 10s here a few years ago when he wasn’t quite the force he is now and 25/1 looks a generous price.
My final selection is Frenchman Victor Perez (28/1). The 27-year-old has had a meteoric rise up the world rankings in the last year. He’s moved up almost 100 places to No. 41 since this time last year and is another in the Ryder Cup picture.
Since winning his first European Tour title at the Dunhill Links his game has gone from strength to strength. He finished inside the top 10 in his first WGC and has recorded two tied 2nd finishes in three Rolex Series appearances since.
He lives in Scotland and enjoy links golf and with the potentially windy conditions his game could be ideally suited to this layout. A leading chance and perhaps slightly overpriced.
