This soft Adidas Core Chest Stripe polo shirt offers fantastic value for money.
Like the name suggests this golf polo is equipped with a colour and bright stripe pattern across the chest that looks smart. I am a fan of splash of colour on my golf clothing as long as it doesn’t go overboard, and this strikes the perfect balance for me.
As is the case with many of Adidas’ polo shirts it is works with the golfer for performance benefits with plenty of breathability and stretch material. The fit is comfortable and with the modern Adidas logo it looks the part as well.
‘All Day I Dream About Sport’, or in other words ‘Adidas’… They have introduced the Ultimate365 range, it is meant to look better and perform better due to innovative materials, relaxed fit and progressive styles. As far as the materials go you can really tell the difference, all the clothes I’ve had the pleasure of trying from Adidas’s 365 range has felt great. I’m probably not the best person to try this range out though, as I’m a slim fit and just found some of the tops a little too relaxed on me, as I like a slim fit. Secondly, I’m more a navy, white and grey man and the progressive styles were also a little too much for me. Adidas do plane colours and generally that would be my go too.

The adidas Ultimate365 Tour HEAT.RDY Print Polo Shirt is part of the ‘Tour’ clothing range from adidas Golf. This is the one you’ll see all the latest PGA tour players wearing now. It’s really comfy and has four button collars, which is quite old school and I really liked it. As said the pattern was not really my usual go too, but if it’s your thing then Adidas has nailed it. It was really comfy to wear, and I actually shot 19 points on the back nine, therefore I’d suggest it improves your performance!
Another thing I really like about Adidas now, they have slightly altered their logo to just this simple three line, their performance logo and dropped the words. Think this looks much better and more stylish, especially on polo’s.
PROS:
Stylise
Lovely materials
Great collar design
CONS:
Would prefer plain pattern, but that’s just me!
RRP: £70 / $100
Sizes: XS-3XL
Colours: Black-Grey / Pure Sulfur-White / Wonder Blue-White
The micro-stripe design is subtle and yet classy. There is a small logo on the left chest and a wordmark just below the rear collar. It comes in a choice of eight colours, so you are sure to find a shade that suits. I liked the Heather Violet Storm version, a sort of pale lilac.
Although it is on the expensive side for a polo, The Heater is the sort of garment that looks equally at home on and off the course. As such, it comes highly recommended.
On the course it is a joy to wear and is easy to layer over. This model is one of the more expensive polo shirts from FJ, but I do know from experience that FJ gear is built to lastand will serve you well for years to come.
PROS:
Quality construction.
Comfortable and stretchy
Good choice of colours
CONS:
A little pricey
RRP: £57.50 / $80
Sizes: S-3XL
Colours: White-navy / White-pink lemonade / Pistachio-blue jay / White-flint
The TravisMathew brand was born in California in 2007 with the aim of creating golf gear for those seeking ultimate comfort with relaxed styling and a modern fit. It was bought by Callaway in 2017 and has been worn by the likes of Jon Rahm, when he won The Masters and US Open, as well as other Callaway staffers including Sam Burns and Akshay Bhatia. It’s also found favour with the likes of actors Chris Pratt and Adam Sandler.
The Heater Polo is constructed from a fabric, comprising 70% recycled polyester, 23% cotton and 7% spandex. It is delightfully soft and offers four-way stretch and wicking properties. It runs true to size. The fit is both tailored and yet relaxed. There is a signature double-needle collar which gives a classic look with built-in collar stays for durability.
If you are looking to stand out from the crowd, then look no further than the Featherweight Flourish, a polo with an abstract floral print constructed from a wonderfully lightweight and soft fabric made from a polyester, cotton and spandex mix. The fabric offers comfort, 4-way stretch and wicking properties. It comes in just the one colour, so-called Mood Indigo which is a cool mix of greys and pinks.
There is a signature double-needle collar which gives a classic look with built-in collar stays for durability. An unobtrusive ‘m’ logo to the chest means that this is a polo that looks as good off the course as on it.
I have loved wearing the Featherweight Flourish. My only hesitation is that the fabric is so soft and lightweight, which may question the longevity of what is a cracking polo shirt.
You really can’t beat a good golfing polo and this is one of the best I’ve tried. I was lucky enough to get two completely different designs to test – scroll through the pictures above to see. The material is of great quality and is fitted but also offers plenty of comfort and stretch at the same time. The three button collar is ideal for wearing either fully closed or fully opened depending on how you like to sport your polo shirts. The material is extremely breathable and sweat resistant and offers a fully comfort free round in all weathers. The blue and white pattern top that I wore was really different and cool and looks great with either dark or light trousers. The white patterned top I actually became more fond of and is something different from plain white. If you don’t like either there are over 20 different designs to pick from on the Under Armour website.
The Figure Print Lisle from FJ is one of a whole host of stylish polo shirts for the 2025 season. Crafted from a blend of 88% polyester and 12% spandex, it offers a lightweight and stretchy feel. FJ tell us that ProDry fabrication provides superior moisture control to keep you cool and comfortable on the course.
It runs true to size, comes in a choice of 4 colours (I particularly liked the white/navy option) and has an understated but stylish look. The look is completed by a 3-button solid navy placket and some yellow piping around the inside of the collar.
Lyle & Scott’s legacy of excellence and craftsmanship truly shines through in their polo shirts. I usually wear another well-known brand, but after trying out Lyle & Scott’s newest range celebrating their 150th year, I was instantly impressed.
Their golf technical polo shirt is made from a recycled polyester blend, designed to be lightweight with a three-button placket and detailed stitching on the collar and cuffs.
It’s comfortable to wear and versatile for both on and off the course. I typically wear a slim fit medium, but the regular fit of this polo still looked great on me – slightly loose, but that’s just because I’m used to slim fits.
It’s perfect for summer with its loose fit and light material and can easily be layered with a base layer for winter.
The polo shirt comes in a variety of stylish colours and I even received a compliment from one of my wife’s parent’s friends on how smart I looked in it. If you’re looking for a Christmas or general golfing gift for a loved one, you can’t go wrong with this Lyle & Scott polo shirt.

I have only ever owned one Lululemon golf polo shirt previously, which I loved. So, I was eager to see how this latest offering from the lifestyle brand would perform.
It felt a lot more like a traditional golf polo shirt than what I was familiar with from Lululemon, where they often offer a sporty feeling golf shirt. That doesn’t mean to say I didn’t like it as I thought it was great.
The design, although simple, is smart and can match with any outfit. Being a classic fit shirt there was plenty freedom of movement on every swing with the refined pique knit allows for good levels of performance.
The price may be slightly premium, but the quality is too, allowing for a good shirt for golf and casual wear.
Until recently I wasn’t aware of Lululemon’s move into the golf market. But with Min Woo Lee and Max Homa now flying the flag for the brand I seem to be seeing it more and more.
As such, I was very excited to get my hands on one of their polos. This metal vent polo shirt feels very light in the hand and oozes breathability and comfort.
I have now played golf and padel (apologies, I am one of the those who has joined the padel craze) in this polo and it is perfect for both. Keeps you cool and fits lovely (it is true to size for me).
Yes, it is plain – you wouldn’t even know what brand this polo shirt is as there is no obvious logo on the top half of the shirt. There is a tiny logo towards the bottom but if you tucked your shirt in then this would be hidden.
But, if plain is your thing this is definitely worth a go – especially as it is currently available at a reduced price (UK only).
Craghoppers NosiLife Bramshaw Golf Short Sleeved Polo
This summer, Craghoppers is launching its first-ever golf wear collection for both men and women, combining technical fabrics with smart design. The polos feature their innovative NosiLife insect repellent technology, which helps keep insects at bay on warm, grassy, or water-side courses.
When taking the polo out of the packaging I was pleasantly surprised. I really liked the lightweight feel and it felt more premium than budget.
On putting it on it felt breathable and most importantly comfortable. If I did not know the brand before putting on I would have thought it was an established golf polo brand from how it felt and looked when on.
Made from lightweight, breathable, and quick-drying materials with UPF 30-50+ sun protection, this polo is ideal for wearing on and off the golf course. With odour control and a lifetime guarantee, Craghoppers definitely are providing an alternative polo option away from the established brands. It was a joy to wear and is now well and truly in my golf wardrobe.
For me, the Craghoppers lettering is fine on the left chest but in time I would just leave the logo – it gives the item a little more intrigue when it comes to the brand.
Though I cannot attest to the NosiLife tech I can thoroughly recommend this as a fantastic all round polo.
Craghoppers NosiLife Bramshaw Golf Long Sleeved Polo
As well as the short sleeved polo (above) Craghoppers are providing golfers with a long sleeve option.
I can safely say that I am now a long sleeve polo convert. Having never owned one I was not expecting it to be to my liking. How wrong was I!?
When taking the polo out of the packaging I wasn’t sure what to make of it – it felt lightweight and more like a base layer type of feel and stretch.
On putting it on it was a revelation. It was very comfortable and breathable but was not as restrictive as a baselayer! The thing I liked about it was it is perfect for those colder spring or autumn nights when you are moving from winter to spring/summer golf. To be honest it would be perfectly fine to wear in the warmer months if you wanted to cover your arms.
Just like the short sleeved polo it features their innovative NosiLife insect repellent technology, is lightweight, breathable, made with quick-drying materials and provides UPF 30-50+ sun protection.
Though I cannot attest to the NosiLife tech I can thoroughly recommend this as a fantastic all long sleeve polo option for on and off course use. I use it to watch the kids play sport and for other activities such as Padel and even cricket!
You might have to hear me out on this one. I don’t mind the PUMA MATTR Broken Flower Golf Polo and by this, I mean, I don’t mind the design of Deep Navy and Peach Forest. It has got me in the mood for playing golfer all summer and this is because of the extravagant colours.
What struck me most about this polo is the feel and weight of it. It is so soft, and it doesn’t feel like you’ve got anything. While on the golf course, it felt very light and comfortable, and this was extremely complimentary to my performance. The MATTR technology was obvious in the fabric, and it combines moisture-wicking properties with fast-drying features.
PROS:
Very light and soft
Relaxed and performance feel on the golf course
Colour portrays a summer mood
CONS:
Some golfers will sneer at the colour
RRP: £50.00
Sizes: S-L
Colours: Deep Navy-Peach Forest and White Glow-Blue Crystal
Much like regular MATTR Golf Polo from PUMA, the MATTR Elevated Solid Polo is very light and complimentary to performance on the golf course.
When I was on the golf course, I felt very solid and relaxed with this polo on. I had the Peach Forest colour which is very bright and stands out from pretty much any other polo shirt you could have on. It all depends if you want to have this type of presence on the golf course.
It has a nice flat-knit colour with the Signature PUMA logo on the back which I think is a nice touch. You couldn’t ask for a nicer feeling golf polo, it just rests on which colour you want to pick.
I was emotional. Rory had won The Masters the night before, and then, in the post, came a lovely box from the guys at lupr. The Dusk Polo in Sunset immediately caught the eye. It was giving Augusta vibes, and I was all for it.
I must have had 100s of golf polos, so I have seen the good and the bad – this was firmly in the former. It felt premium, the collar, button detailing, cuffs – all very high end. If I had to guess, I would say this was in the £100 polo range, so pleased to see it far less than that.
I love the detailing on the back panel. There is a subtlety to all of the lupr range. It’s not brash or loud – it’s a quiet luxury and I’m a big fan.
One thing I would say is that the fit is slightly tailored, so if you prefer a loose fit, order one size up and you’ll be fine. I gave this polo to my friend and let him try (he’s in the pictures) and he agreed with everything I have said. The fabric is really top notch and there is no restriction at all when swinging the club. It was a warm day and the lightweight, moisture wicking fabric certainly did it’s job.
Would highly recommend this polo – a perfect additional to the summer golf wardrobe. Oh and it also comes in Viridian and Twilight colourways.
PROS:
Premium, quality feel
Fits extremely well, although for a looser fit, size up
Good price point considering the quality
CONS:
None
RRP: £70.00 although they offer 10% off first orders
For me, Peter Millar screams out quality and comfort. This is no different with this polo shirt.
It is lovely and soft to touch and has a nice stretch in it. I had the angelite colour to test out and it is the perfect colour for spring summer. If you are not a fan of the angelite there are 5 other colours to pick from.
I love the discreet logoing – with just a small silver logo on the back of the neck. Other than that you would not know what brand this polo is – which for me, is ideal.
As with most Peter Millar items it is no trouble at all to swing a club in. The four-way stretch means that the top fits around you in comfort. I am an XL and would say this is true to size. I don’t like super tight tops and this was perfect in this regard.
Other things to note about this polo is that it offers UPF 50+ sun protection and easy-care. The Peter Millar website even states – ‘Do not iron’ – and that is a big plus for me!
If you are after a premium polo that is ideal for on and off course wear, then Peter Millar provides you with this option.
PROS:
Lovely colours and design
Super soft
Four-way stretch
CONS:
Premium price – might put some off
RRP: £90 / $115
Sizes: S-2XL
Colours: Angelite / Blue Spruce / Crenshaw / Fountain Blue / Lavender Moon / Pink Crete
I recently got to try the All Play Stripe Stretch Knit Polo from G/FORE, and I have to say, I really liked it. The fit was just right, not too tight, not too loose. So it felt comfortable all round but still looked smart. I didn’t feel restricted at all, which is important when you’re swinging a club, and the stretch in the fabric made it really easy to move in.
Being G/FORE, it’s instantly stylish. The stripe design is simple but modern, and the quality really shows when you put it on. It feels soft, comfortable, warm and well made, definitely a step up from your average polo. It comes in small to XXL and three great designs Baja / Dune / Twilight. I had the Dune but have got my eye on buying the Baja (light blue!) too.
It’s not cheap, but honestly, when you get this level of fit, style, and quality, it’s worth it. I’d happily wear it on the course or just out and about. A proper classic.
Looking for a new polo shirt? Jonathan Taylor has put the new Abacus Tumble Drycool Polo shirt to the test. Abacus is a Swedish golf apparel brand established over 30 years ago with a stated mission to make functional and smart clothing for the active golfer. The company has a whole new range of styles of polo shirt out for 2025. One of these is the Tumble Drycool.
The Tumble comes with a so-called ‘triangle tone-in-tone all-over print’. Hopefully the accompanying picture will enlighten you. Now I’ve tested several Abacus polos over the years and particularly enjoyed last year’s Crail which was a single colour. The pattern of the Tumble seems to me to be a bit of a step back to the camo styling which I’ve never been a great fan of.
The colour I tested was a blue/black which I felt was a little harsh looking. It is one of three colour options and the other two look better on paper at least.
Aside from the pattern and the colour, the Tumble is made from a stretchy 100% polyester Drycool fabric which has breathable and wicking properties to ensure comfort, even on the sporadic hot UK summer days. It almost goes without saying that the construction of the garment is up to the usual high Abacus standard, but one other minor quibble is that the sleeves felt to be a little on the short side.
It runs true to size with the medium fitting my 173cm/74kg shape nicely and there is no doubt that the Tumble is a striking design; it’s just not quite my cup of tea.
The Aloha UV Protection Series is new this year and offers a long lasting 50 UPF level of protection by using a high-density polyester weave without the need for chemicals.
The Aloha half sleeve is lightweight, close fitting and made from a stretchy Drycool fabric which offers wicking and breathable properties. It comes in 3 colours and I tested the version in blue with an orange band on the shoulders and sleeves. It gives a bold and striking look.
It has a halfzip closure at the front with a stand-up collar. To me, it looks more suited to other sporting activities such as cycling or running, and although it is comfortable enough and fits nicely, with good length sleeves, I could see myself wearing the Aloha if I was golfing in hot weather abroad, but I cannot see it becoming a staple in my UK golfing wardrobe.
Calvin Klein’s Abstract Watercolour Printed Polo is a must-have for 2025. It is made from high-stretch material, which is also moisture-wicking and quick-drying – perfect for any unwelcomed rain showers you might find yourself in.
It is a lightweight product, but one that feels like it has been well made, a great mix of fabric. Considering that the majority of Clavin Klein products are at the higher end of the scale when it comes to ‘normal’ clothes, it is incredible that their golf apparel remains at a good price, especially compared to other premium brands.
Throw in that you can get the Abstract Watercolour Printed Polo in a number of different colourways, and all I can say is that I will definitely be wearing it out on the course this summer.
PROS:
Lovely material
Great design
Competitive pricing
CONS:
None
RRP: £54.99
Sizes: S-2XL
Colours: Navy, sea green, lemon, turtle dove and white
I, like many golfers, tend to be a bit conservative in my tastes. As I test more bold patterns, I am changing my views, however.
The Ping Diego Men’s Foliage Jacquard polo shirt is certainly bold but looks great. Despite its striking pattern, it still manages to look classy. It is made from 93% recycled polyester and 7% elastane. It is crease-resistant, quick-drying and has moisture movement technology.
Like the other Ping apparel I have tested, the stretch is fantastic. Not only does it make it unrestrictive, it is very comfortable. The comfort also comes from the soft-touch fabric which was apparent to me even before I had read the specs on the website. A clever hidden button down collar finishes it oFf nicely.
PROS:
Good looks
Soft touch fabric very comfortable
Very stretchy
CONS:
None
RRP: £55
Sizes: S-3XL
Colours: Cornflower Blue Multi / Misty Green Multi / Purple Ash Multi
Who doesn’t love a funky design on their golf polo shirt?
This crab enthused offering from Callaway will certainly be a talking point on the first tee box.
Like you probably are right now, I was a bit hesitant initially of giving it a go, but somehow, somehow I have actually grown too quite like it. The styling won’t of course be to everyone’s taste, but fashion and clothes very rarely are.
As far as the construction goes, it does offer UPF 50 protection against the sun so you can show off your new style with a peace of mind this summer. If you are someone who likes to stand out rather than blend in, then the Callaway Crab Novelty polo short will be right up your street.
If you want your look to be cool on the course, turn to the Tour Tech Slim Fit Polo from J Lindeberg. There’s classic and there’s this – a smart looking shirt that will turn heads but is never ostentatious. I love the slim fit – but don’t confuse that for tight. The Tour Tech narrows in at the right places but doesn’t constrict.
The Lindeberg branding on the sleeve is very cool but not over the top and the three-button design doesn’t cut off the circulation at the top of the neck!
PROS:
Very smart classic looking product
Slim fit styling doesn’t constrict
CONS:
Slim fit won’t be for those who prefer it a bit looser
RRP: £75 / $95
Sizes: S-2XL
Colours: Oil Green / Azalea / White / JL Navy / Black / Rain washed / Tigers eye
Let’s get this out of the way now. The styling, and particularly the colour scheme, won’t be for everyone. But if you don’t mind standing out on the course, the J Lindeberg Club House Motif is a fine polo shirt.
The fabric is incredibly soft and, while the fitting was a little looser than I’d usually wear in a medium, it felt silky smooth on the skin.
I can sometimes get irritated by polyester, but this felt gorgeous to the touch. I also liked the all-over print, a combination of logos and icons, and the olive colour option was an easy pair with darker trousers.
PROS:
Super silky to the touch
Bold seasonal print pattern
Pairs well with darker trousers
CONS:
That colour scheme and design won’t be for everyone
I’m not a golfer that tends to go with a more traditional golf polo. I do like to have a bit of colour or pattern design on my golf wear. Maybe that’s because I am a bit of a fair-weather golfer, and the brighter colours get you into the summer spirt more or it may be an age thing.
But I have to say I really loved the J.Lindeberg Bridger polo shirt. It was extremely comfortable out on the golf course and the material felt more premium than anything I had tested previously.
It also felt lightweight and thanks to its intarsia-knit contrast panels it is the perfect option for summer golf as it offers extremely effective cooling for those hot days.
All in all, this is a plain golf polo that I can certainly get behind and will be wearing this season.
I really liked wearing the Penguin Bohemian Jacquard Polo on the golf course. The feel was very snug and secure, and this gave me a subconscious feeling of security when swinging the golf club.
I like the design of this polo in Black Iris. I think the colour of the collar and the main body of the polo contrasts nicely and each colour stands out nicely.
Penguin have always designed superb polos, and this one doesn’t buck the trend. It has enhanced stretch, and the Double-Knit fabric clearly makes for a thicker and more durable feel.
Penguin is an extremely popular brand, and it is because of the colourways, feel and performance of items like the Bohemian Jacquard Polo.
If there’s one thing Oscar Jacobson are acquainted with its fashion. They have opted to go with a more traditional styling for their Mansfield polo shirt which features a smart pattern. I think this polo shirt has both a traditional but modern look to it, it’s hard to put my finger on what that is exactly.
Initially I was a tad sceptical of it as it’s not what I usually go for, but I have to say it has grown on me. The design of clothing is always up to the consumer’s taste, but the quality can’t be denied.
Oscar Jacobson is a premium brand, and they have delivered another premium product.
Practically, it is very breathable and has built-in UV protection from against the sun. Perfect then for the summer months.
As is the case with a lot of Oscar Jacobson golf polos, the Northcote adopts a more understated design than some other polos on the market,
The print graphic offers a contemporary look that is subtle. Lightweight, breathable and comfortable are all commodities of this polo that make it a solid option for everyone’s golf wardrobe this summer.
It is engineered for optimal performance on the golf course with the side vents offering an enhanced freedom of movement.
PROS:
Performance driven design
Sophisticated look
Breathable
CONS:
Design and colourway may not be to everyone’s taste
I love the subtle design of this polo shirt. From a distance it will probably look like a plain white polo and then as you get closer the design reveals itself – with the small logoes all over and the Oscar Jacobson branding on the sleeve.
The first thing I noticed when taking the polo shirt out the packet is the stretchiness to it. This was in a good way, it felt quality and could see just from the touch this would be a comfortable and breathable wear. This was the case when it came to swinging the club and playing 18 holes – it is up there with being one of my favourite golf polo shirts.
As well as the comfort it also has UV protection built in (UPF 50+) which is valuable when playing either home or abroad.
All in all, this polo shirt gets a massive thumbs up from me and will be one of my regular golf polo shirts this season.
Oscar Jacobson’s 2025 Spring/Summer release is a pretty exciting one. Part of this range is the Guildford polo, a lightweight, smart design available in three colourways (I tested the watercress version but it is also available in Navy and Pewter).
The design is really interesting, it consists of an ‘all over’ OJ logo pattern which looks really smart with a further two main branding spots on the chest and arm which keeps the polo looking clean.
The material is extremely lightweight, stretchy, breathable and is also a quick dry fabric which ticks all the boxes for a round of golf in the sun.
Another one of Oscar Jacobson’s spring/summer release is the Matley polo shirt.
This is a simple smart design available in three different colourways. All the designs are split into two smart blocks of different colours which adds a bit of style to a staple polo shirt.
There is also tonne of interesting features packed into the item, from UV protection, breathable side vents, and a four-way stretch fabric which allows for maximum flexibility and comfort on the golf course.
OJ have really covered all bases with this release – for anybody in the market for another polo shirt, this is a great option.
On the face of it, the Marlon is an extremely sharp and fashionable-looking polo that will help you to stand out from the crowd. But as with all Galvin Green apparel, the sharp looks are accompanied by proven technical features that will help you to play at the best of your abilities.
In the case of the Galvin Green Marlon shirt, the key features include the material being highly breathable to help keep you cool, while offering protection from the sun and quick-drying capabilities.
With the reinforced collar and cuffs, you will find that this shirt continued to look sharp for wear after wear, which makes it a brilliant addition to your golfing wardrobe. The Galvin Green Marlon is a staple item that you build the rest of your golfing attire around.
PROS:
So light and cool
Zero restriction on movement
Sharp looks
CONS:
Design might not be for everyone
RRP: £89 / $109
Sizes: S-2XL
Colours: Navy-moonlight blue / White-fresh green / Navy-red / Black-sharkskin
Ashworth is an old-school throw back when it comes to golf clothing. It’s a brand tailored to the golfing purist but enthuses modern technology for brilliant pieces of golf apparel.
This Signature Golfman polo certainly resembles that. I love the understated yet meaningful pattern that showcases the iconic Ashworth Golfman, hence the name.
There is no doubting the premium quality of the shirt which is evident from its soft feel. Ahead of the summer it’s good to know that this Ashworth polo offers UPF 50+ sun protection.
However, I did find the fitting to be a little too big and baggy so sizing down may be a good option if you opt for this Ashworth golf polo shirt.
PROS:
Extremely lightweight
UPF 50+ sun protection
Subtle yet smart pattern design
CONS:
Slightly baggy
RRP: £59
Sizes: S-3XL
Colours: Chambray/driver navy, driver navy/white and white/club green
Another one of Ashworth’s 2025 Spring Summer release is the Dry Release Polo. This is a slightly different release to the majority of items released each year.
This is a cotton shirt, slightly baggier fit with a slightly enlarged button up area. I wasn’t sure at first but after wearing it I became a big fan quite quickly, it has a very retro feel to it but was also very comfortable.
A lot of the new materials are very performance motivated in design but there was something quite liberating about playing golf in a simple cotton polo with a relaxed fit.
This might not be for everybody, but for those who like the look of a slightly retro looking/feeling item then this is a great number to add to your wardrobe.
Stuburt have released a whole host of Spring Summer 2025 apparel for the year ahead, part of which is the Bullfinch mens polo, a smart camouflage designed piece available in a pink or blue colourway.
The fit of the polo was really good, it didn’t sit too tight but also wasn’t baggy and the four-way stretch material was ideal when out on the course.
The design is slightly on the loud side for me, I personally prefer to keep my golfing fashion fairly simple but if this is the sort of style you like then I would certainly recommend it as an option for your next polo.
It is available at a great price point, really comfortable and certainly eye-catching!
The Stuburt Goose Polo, I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised by the quality and comfort it offers. The fabric feels premium against the skin, with an ideal blend of softness and breathability. It fitted me well, allowing for a full range of motion during swings without feeling restrictive. What really stood out was the fantastic price point—it’s not every day you find such a well-crafted polo that doesn’t break the bank. It is available in 4 colours and I am really tempted to stock up with the other colours!
Plus, it’s exciting to see Stuburt gaining increased exposure as a preferred choice for LIV Golf teams, including Sergio Garcia’s Fireballs, which speaks volumes about its style and performance on the course.
Pros:
Exceptional quality and comfort for the price.
Breathable fabric perfect for warm-weather play.
Stylish design that stands out both on and off the course.
The Cuckoo Polo from Stuburt is new for 2025 and is, in my view, the best of three very similar models- the other two being the Kestrel, a plain print coming in a choice of no less than eight different colours, and the Mallard with a splatter graphic in three colours. They are all constructed from the same fabric (88% polyester, 12% elastane), are stretchy, breathable and wicking, with a tailored colour and a three-button closure. Interestingly, they are all priced slightly differently but very reasonably, at between £24.99 and £34.99.
The Cuckoo is my favourite, due to its classic yet stylish all-over Stuburt monogram repeat print. I tested the Bermuda Grass colour. Both look good. On the course, it is comfortable to wear, and the overall impression is one of classic elegance, as seen in some garments costing more than twice as much as the Cuckoo.
Stromberg is a staple of American Golf, and their polo shirts have been getting better and better over the last few years.
The Abbeydale Polo is another fine example of that, improving on last year’s offering. The polo is made from 100% polyester, allowing for ‘Performance Stretch’, ideal for the movement required in the golf swing. It is also a breathable mesh construction, while the material is moisture-wicking, keeping you dry and comfortable, whatever the temperature.
The design incorporates a splash of colour around the inside collar, while the Stromberg logo is emblazed onto the left sleeve. It might not be a premium brand, but for the price, you can’t really say no.
I tested a large, and the fit was good, although it did feel a bit tighter than some other brands I’ve tried. If you prefer a more fitted style, this polo could be a solid choice for both on and off the course.
I really liked the colour options available and the subtle design details that added a nice touch without being overpowering.
The fabric stretches well, allowing for a full range of motion, which is essential when swinging a club. Additionally, the moisture-wicking properties kept me cool and comfortable during play.
Overall, I was very pleased with my experience in this polo and would recommend it to anyone looking for a stylish and functional golf shirt.
PROS:
Comfortable
Stylish
Keeps you cool
CONS:
Might find it slightly tight, therefore might need to go with a bigger size
Having tested out the jazzier Glenmuir Irvine polo shirt last year I was very excited to get my hands on another Glenmuir polo.
On first inspection of the Tain I was a tad disappointed due to the somewhat plain colour. It was probably made worse that the plain blue was somewhat similar to the overalls medics have on when in hospital. I suppose if I had it in navy or blue I might have been more enthusiastic about it.
Glenmuir describe this polo as ‘understated sophistication’ and I have to agree.
It is plain yet a quality item. It is breathable and has a non-flimsy collar which provides for a very comfortable experience when playing golf.
A bonus from the plain design is that it is probably the perfect polo for on / off course use – I could see me wearing this to an event that required smart casual attire, as well as for a night out with friends or family.
So, all in all, though I might have been a bit harsh on its plainness there is no doubt that this is a quality polo and worthy of consideration if you are looking for an item you can get a lot of wear out of, on and off the course.
PROS:
Breathable
Quality collar
Versatile – can be easily worn off course
CONS:
Plain design – which for some, might be a good thing!
When it seems that just about every garment is constructed in a polyester based fabric, I was interested to see that this new polo from Glenmuir is made from 100% mercerised cotton and still offers performance benefits.
It comes in a classy ship’s helm print. Glenmuir states that this ‘navigates the intersection of Scottish maritime history with golfing tradition’. That all sounds very grand, but it does look very smart.
It is soft and comfortable next to the skin, has a nicely tailored collar, good sleeve length and a 3-button closure placket. There is a very subtle logo on the right sleeve, so the Braemar could comfortably be worn away from the course. It comes in a choice of just two colours – both look smart.
My only issue was with sizing. I am normally a comfortable medium in just about every brand of polo. The website sizing guide suggested that ‘medium’ would be correct in the Braemar. However, it was a little too close fitting for comfort, and was also on the short side, which is surprising, considering that i am a mere 173cm tall. So, I’d suggest you go up a size in this particular style. Other than that, it comes highly recommended.
Tasc Golf Apparel, founded in New Orleans, Louisiana, focuses on creating high-quality golf clothing that combines performance with sustainability. The brand uses natural, eco-friendly fabrics – like organic cotton – allowing golfers to enjoy comfortable and stylish gear while also being mindful of the environment.
There is no doubt this polo shirt is super comfortable. It is lovely and soft and simplicity of the design was vey much to my liking. There is a small logo on the sleeve but other than that you would not know what brand this polo is.
All in all, the Tasc Brookline Golf Polo is a fantastic blend of comfort and style, making it my new go-to choice for both the course and casual outings. The lightweight, breathable fabric is immediately noticeable, and the eco-friendly materials means you are making a sustainable choice.
Stitch is a golf brand that was founded in 2012 in Cary, North Carolina, and initially focussed on making some rather stylish headcovers. Fast forward a few years and they are creating award winning golf bags and providing apparel to Bryson DeChambeau on his way to winning his second US Open at Pinehurst, breaking Rory McIlroy’s heart in the process.
A stated aim of the company is to make apparel which transfers seamlessly from the workplace to the golf course. The Canal Stripe is one of three Stitch polo shirts that I have had the opportunity to test. It is made from a 92% polyester, 8% spandex jersey fabric. Stitch tells us that the jersey (as opposed to pique) offers a smooth performance feel, with which I’d certainly agree. The fabric is soft next to the skin, comfortable and stretchy.
I tested the version in medium size and blue orchid colour. US sizes tend to run a little large if anything, but the medium provided a relaxed yet tailored fit. You might want to size down if you are between sizes.
I wasn’t particularly convinced by the Canal Stripe pattern though. The three colour choices are a bit ‘samey’ and give a nautical vibe, such that I feel they might look better worn for a boating trip rather than a golf course.
There are the signature Stitch features which include a button down and tailored collar, contrasting stitching around the three-button placket and an unobtrusive logo just beneath the back of the collar.
There is no doubt that this is a quality garment. But this particular style was not to my taste. I much preferred the similarly named but significantly different Atlantic Stripe design from Stitch, which offered a wider range of colours as well as a cooler pattern.

I tested the version in medium size and forged grey colour. US sizes tend to run a little large if anything, but the medium provided a relaxed yet tailored fit. You might want to size down if you are between sizes. The Atlantic Stripe offers an understated yet classic pattern. A choice of five colours means that you are bound to find something to suit your preferred apparel palette.

Although I’m generally a fan of a bold colour, and I’m not afraid of a vivid pattern, I have really enjoyed wearing the Atlantic Stripe. It doesn’t shout out, but it is a pleasure to wear, both on and off the course.
PROS:
Premium construction.
Offers an understated look.
Wide choice of colours.
CONS:
Nothing
RRP: £99 / $105 (now reduced)
Sizes: S-XL
Colours: Bluebell, Palm Shell, Stitch Navy, Blue Suede, Forged Grey
The pique fabric offers strong breathable and wicking properties, and a lightweight next to the skin feel. It offers a UPF rating of 50 which is also an added bonus on sunny days home or abroad.
I tested the version in medium size and navy colour. US sizes tend to run a little large if anything, but the medium provided a relaxed yet tailored fit. You might want to size down if you are between sizes.
For me, the Solid Pique style rather lacked interest. There was no contrasting detail, for example, at the collar, 3 button placket or sleeves. So, the look was rather run of the mill, particularly in the navy colour. I guess it may look better in a lighter colour- there are a total of four on offer.
There is a nice button down and tailored collar but there is not really enough going on with the Solid Pique to justify the pricing. That said, there are several alternative styles, so head over to the well-designed Stitch website and you will be sure to find something to suit.
