Best Callaway Winter Apparel

Callaway Winter
Thermal
Trousers

5 star review
best winter thermal trousers

RRP £80

Comfortable, stylish, and most importantly, warm. The Callaway Golf Winter Thermal Trousers are perfect for playing 18 holes in tricky and tough conditions throughout the winter months. They are heavier than normal trousers due to the thickness to keep you warm, but thanks to Callaway’s Opti-Therm technology, that cosiness is incredibly comfortable.

The trousers do not feel heavy, and it does not feel like you have to lift weights as you walk. You can tell the difference between these and a normal pair of trousers, but the extra weight is not distracting or tiring. The trouser legs do not cling to your skin but hug your skin to provide comfort. Despite being tight fitting due to the thickness, movement is free and easy, with the fabric being able to stretch just enough for all the right golfing movements.

The pants have an active waistband, which can also stretch to fit, and the durable water repellent technology provides wind and water resistance. Four pockets also provide ample room for your phone, wallet, scorecard, tees, balls and more. These are incredible golf trousers for the winter months, and at less than £60, a must-buy.

  • Water-resistant

Callaway Midweight Textured 1/4 zip Fleece

5 star review
best winter golf jumpers

RRP £80

Callaway have absolutely knocked it out of the park with the Midweight Textured ¼ Zip Fleece.

First of all, it looks great. The riveted texture goes all the way around the garment, and is soft and warm at the touch. The inside of the fleece has the same feel, and it provides warmth and comfort while out on the golf course.

I got this in the Oatmeal colour which is a welcome to change to lots of darker golf jumpers on the market.

The Midweight Textured Fleece features three pockets. Like most jackets, it has the usual two pockets to put your hands in to keep them warm and dry in testing conditions. There is also a third pocket on the chest for you to use if needed. This has a dark zipper which also adds visual interest.

The wrist cuffs are stylish and the perfect style for a golf jumper. It comes in a range of colours – get this before it goes out of stock!

Callaway Aquapel Quarter Zip Mixed Media Sweatshirt

4.5 star review
best winter golf jumpers

RRP £80

The Callaway Golf Aquapel Quarter Zip Mixed Media Sweatshirt is a great piece of clothing for those cold days where you might not want to be wearing a thicker outerwear style jacket.

It is ideal for those colder afternoons out on the golf course, as the soft knit fabric provides comfort and warmth. The mixed fabric used in this product is also water repellent, whilst being breathable is the temperature gets a bit higher.

The mock neck offers protection from the wind in the throat and neck area, with the quarter zip allowing for easy on and off in changeable conditions.

The Aquapel Quarter Zip Mixed Media Sweatshirt comes in a range of colours, with the black, grey and lime combination really standing out from the crowd, especially with the lime accents on the zips and logos.

My only real issue with the Aquapel Quarter Zip Mixed Media Sweatshirt is the price. At £80, it is expensive for a quarter zip, but the level of quality and comfort could be seen to warrant such a price tag.

PROS

  • Comforable
  • Insulating
  • Colour choices

CONS

  • Expensive

Sizes: XS-2XL

Callaway
Crew Neck
Base Layer

4 star review
best callaway winter apparel

RRP £40

If you are one of those who opts to wear a base layer when playing golf during the winter months, then Callaway may have provided exactly what you’re looking for in their AW23 collection.

The Callaway Golf Crew Neck baselayer is available in a selection of colours and provides comfort and warmth on your skin throughout inclement weather. Callaway’s Swing Tech technology provides the fabric with more stretching capabilities, which allows a bigger range of movement. There is still some restriction in your swing and range of motion when wearing the Crew Neck baselayer.

The Opti-Dri moisture management system keeps you dry as well, and also more importantly, keeps your skin dry throughout the round. The Crew Neck provides added cover to your throat and neck area in wind and rain to keep even more of your body warmer. This product comes in a range of colours, including black, white and navy.

PROS

  • Lightweight
  • Warm

CONS

  • Some swing restriction

Sizes: XS-2XL
Colour: Black / Grey / Navy / White

Callaway StormGuard III Waterproof Jacket

5 star review
best callaway winter apparel

RRP £179

Waterproof jackets are a must if you are looking to play golf throughout the entirety of the winter season, especially in the UK. The Callaway Golf Stormguard III Waterproof Jacket allows you to do just that with its comfort and waterproof material, providing the perfect outer jacket for a game of golf in the cold, wind and rain.

The Stormguard III is waterproof to 15,000mm, perfect for playing in persistent rain. It also has a three-year waterproof warranty through Callaway themselves, proving how much they believe in its waterproof qualities.

The fabric is breathable, and the Swing Tech technology, as used in other outer jackets in the Callaway range, allows for a full range of motion.

The inner sleeves of this jacket are made from polyurethane, and provide a more baselayer feel to them, as they wrap around your arms snugly.

At £139, this is a cracking piece of kit for your winter golf, and it also lends itself to being worn in other walks of life, any time you need a waterproof jacket.

PROS

  • Warm
  • Waterproof
  • Stylish
  • Comfortable

Sizes: S – 3XL

Callaway Chevron
Welded Quilted
Jacket

best callaway winter apparel

RRP £120

This is one of the numerous jackets in Callaway’s Autumn Winter apparel range and definitely the thickest jacket I have tested.

The full-zip jacket is quilted and insulated and has provided an exceptional amount of warmth, which will be perfect for the winter months.

There are adjustable cuffs and a toggle hem to adjust the waist, which is really helpful to dial in the fit.

The sleeves are knitted, and the front of the jacket features two zippered pockets which are deep enough for you to walk around with your hands comfortably inside.

The Swing Tech design is featured for improved movement; however, I would say you still feel some restrictions due to the sheer size and thickness of the jacket.

The sleeves are of a good length, but the body of the jacket could do with being longer, as it starts to ride up the torso mid-swing.

This is a really well-priced jacket option compared to similar products on the market, but you need to weigh up the balance of warmth to movement.

PROS

  • Insulated and warm
  • Water-resistant
  • Reasonably priced

CONS

  • Rides up during swing

Sizes: S-XL
Colour: Black / Navy

Callaway Stormfleece Pro Lite ½ Zip Jacket

4 star review
best callaway winter apparel

RRP £120

The Callaway Golf Stormfleece Pro Lite ½ Zip Jacket comes in the category of a lightweight jacket to be used in wet weather, and it has its plus points.

Firstly, it looks great. The grey, black and lime combination, which has been used across much of the Callaway Golf AW23 collection, is very stylish, especially with the lime accents on the zips and logos.

This is a great lightweight option to help keep the elements out. It is particularly good at keeping out the wind. In the coldest of conditions, this will be needed to use in a layering system, but this is the perfect thickness to allow for this.

Although this isn’t fully waterproof, the jacket is water-repellent, and it is a good option when the rain starts. However, it is not the right sort of garment to be wearing if you are going to be playing golf in driving, persistent rain.

PROS

  • Lightweight
  • Stylish
  • Water repellent

CONS

  • Not waterproof

Sizes: S-3XL
Colour: Grey, Black, Lime / Navy, Brown, White

Callaway Golf Mixed Media Insulated Thermal Jacket

best callaway winter apparel

RRP £135

The Callaway Golf Mixed Media Insulated Thermal Jacket is up against a lot of competition in the outerwear section of the AW23 collection, including within Callaway’s products for this season.

Like other products in their range, Primaloft and Swing Tech are both used in making this jacket. Primaloft thermal insulation is made from recycled materials, making the jacket eco-friendly and warm.

Swing Tech construction is supposed to allow a free range of motion and for you to be able to swing your swing. With this garment, that is true. Despite being such a thick piece of clothing, you are still able to fully swing which is perfect for golf in colder conditions.

The Mixed Media Insulated Jacket also comes with adjustable hem and cuffs to make sure it fits your body shape, and has textured side panels for added comfort.

At £135, it is quite expensive, though, even compared to similar products in Callaway’s range for AW23.

PROS

  • Insulated and warm
  • Comfortable
  • Doesn’t restrict swing

CONS

  • Expensive

Sizes: S-2XL
Colour: Black & Blue / Navy & Turquoise

Callaway Primaloft Premium Quilted Gilet

4.5 star review
best callaway winter apparel

RRP £130

You don’t always need long-sleeved jackets in the winter. Sometimes body warmers can add all the extra warmth needed.

Part of Callaway’s Weather Series, the gilet, along with several of their other products in the range, is made with Primaloft. This is insulation created from recycled plastics, to keep you warm when the temperature drops.

The gilet’s mock neck collar also offers extra protection around your throat and neck from the wind and rain. Pockets provide warmth for your hands, with zips on both.

The full-length zip allows easy access in changeable conditions. The gilet also features an adjustable toggle in the hem to pull it in at the waist if required.

Four colour options – including grey, navy and blue – offer plenty of choice, and all showing off style on the golf course.

At a retail price of £130, it is quite expensive for a gilet, but that is the only downside to the Callaway Golf Primaloft Premium Quilted Gilet.

PROS

  • Comforable
  • Insulating
  • Colour choices

CONS

  • Expensive

Sizes: XS-2XL

Callaway Chev Primaloft Vest

5 star review
best callaway winter apparel

RRP £80

I love a gilet as it keeps my body warm while making my feel like my arms are still free to swing the golf club. This Chev Primaloft Vest from Callaway is a perfect winter gilet. It is thick enough to keep you warm whilst the stretch knit side panels allow for lots of freedom of movement throughout the golf swing.

I really like the choice of colourways in this range, the pastel pink is very up my street and I also like the alternative bright red option.

Both the front and back of the main body of the gilet are wind and water-resistant making this the perfect garment to keep you warm and dry from the elements.

I generally wear a UK size 8/10 in tops. This is a size small and fits perfectly even with a fairly thick jumper underneath. It also has adjustable toggles at each side of the gilet so you can tailor the size to your preference.

PROS

  • Really nice colours
  • Thick warm design

CONS

  • None

Sizes: XS-XL
Colour: Pink or Red

Callaway Midweight Waffle Fleece

4 star review
best callaway winter apparel

RRP £55

The bold pink colourway of this jumper definitely stands out, I like the fact Callaway has used a more unusual shade of pink which makes this more unique.

Despite its fairly thin construction, I found this fleece provided a lot of warmth out on the golf course. The high neck definitely helped with this but also the fleece internal material.

I really like the tighter cuff material around the wrists as it means excess material doesn’t get in the way of you gripping the golf club.

The fleece construction is also very soft against the skin making this very comfortable on.

I tested this in a size small, which fitted really nicely. For reference, I am 5ft 4 and usually wear a UK size 8.

PROS

  • Really warm construction
  • Bold, unique colour
  • Very soft material

CONS

  • None

Sizes: S-XXL
Colour: Pink or Red

Callaway Crew Neck Base Layer

5 star review
best callaway winter apparel

RRP £45

This is the perfect base layer for winter, with good thickness, compression and comfort. I like the crew neck styling which works well with a higher neck jacket or a snood.

The arms extend and have thumb holes so you get that extra warmth all the way down to your fingers.

It has a compressive feel meaning it is easy to put t-shirts or other layers over the top of this.

I also really like the fact Callaway has matched their colourways throughout the range so you can get loads of pieces that match the base layer.

I generally wear a UK size 8/10 in tops. This is a size small and fits perfectly, it has a nice compressive feel without being too tight.

PROS

  • Cool wrist and hand design
  • Warm design
  • Extremely comfortuble

CONS

  • None

Sizes: XS-XL
Colour: Pink / Navy / Black

Callaway Full Zip Heathered Fleece Jacket

5 star review

RRP £80

This is probably my favourite piece I tested from the Callaway Autumn Winter apparel range. I love how unique the design is with a variety of different patterns, textures and colours. Not only is this visually appealing but it also gives a more feminine shape to the jacket.

The inside of this jacket also has a gorgeously soft fleece lining, which is very warm but also super comfortable against the skin.

I really like the tighter cuff material around the wrists as it means excess material doesn’t get in the way of you gripping the golf club.

This has two front pockets which are zipped to keep your smaller items stowed away safely.

I tested this in a size small, which fitted really nicely. For reference, I am 5ft 4 and usually wear a UK size 8.

PROS

  • Unique, eye-catching design
  • Really comfortable
  • Fleece lined for warmth.

CONS

  • None

Sizes: XS-XL
Colour: Dark Navy or Pink Nectar

Callaway Women’s
Fleece
Hoodie

4.5 star review

RRP £75

This is a really fun hoodie that looks smart but also has that casual hoodie element. From the front, you can barely tell this has a hoodie attached at all.

The material of this is very soft and also has a lot of stretch to it, which is perfect for the golf swing as it doesn’t restrict range of movement at all.

I really like the tighter cuff material around the wrists as it means excess material doesn’t get in the way of you gripping the golf club. There is also a stretchy section at the base of the jacket to help with fitting.

This jacket has two zipped hand pockets which are great for storage and keeping your hands warm.

I tested this in a size small, which fitted well but if anything was slightly on the large side. For reference, I am 5ft 4 and usually wear a UK size 8. If you are in between sizes I would suggest sizing down.

PROS

  • Smart casual styling
  • Bold design
  • Very soft material

CONS

  • None

Sizes: S-XXL
Colour: Navy
