This week is a little bit like the calm before the storm.
We have a couple of massive equipment releases coming your way next week so have been working hard preparing our launch content.

We’re also getting ready for a trip to Abu Dhabi for the HSBC Championship where we’ll be interviewing a load of tour players and filming even more equipment reviews.

So while some of our initial launch coverage is landing next week, we’ll be busy filming lots of more in-depth testing and comparison content.
We did have a bit of new product at the start of this week in the shape of the new Callaway Mack Daddy 4 wedges.
Here is what else is going on in the equipment world this week…
New FootJoy gloves offer comfort, grip and breathability
No one makes much noise about their glove offerings but when yours account for more than half of all glove sales in the UK, it’s allowed.
FootJoy will be adding various new models to their line-up in 2018 but the ProFLX and ContourFLX are standout additions.
You may not think getting the right glove is important but it has a part to play on over 50 percent of your shots.
It’s the only other piece of equipment which actually comes into contact with the golf club explained FJ’s Maria Bonzagni in a recent interview.
The ProFLX has breathable vents to keep your hand cool during the round while the ContourFLX has a clean look with premium CabrettaSof leather.

Who else is using new gear on tour?
We always get plenty of movement at this time of year whether that be club or clothing deals.
And here’s a nice one. Andy Sullivan has been playing Ping clubs ever since his junior and amateur days.

And now the 2016 Ryder Cup player has signed a deal to wear Ping clothing.
Ping brought their apparel productions in-house a couple of years ago and since then they’ve gone from strength to strength with come cracking polos, jackets, trousers and waterproofs.
It was also great to see KJ Choi – who has signed a deal with Ping – playing the G400 irons. These are supposed to be for higher handicappers but it proves even the pros like to make the game easier for themselves.
In more club news, Eddie Pepperell announced his switch to play Mizuno irons in typically comical fashion.

While another player across the Atlantic has started using the Mizuno JPX900 Tour irons – the model used by Brooks Koepka in his US Open win.

Callaway have continued to sign dozens more players to their ranks as they look to re-enforce their position as the No. 1 brand.
