Mizuno have a reputation for making the best irons around. Now with the launch of the Mizuno JPX900 driver, fairways and hybrids, the brand are keen to stress just how good their woods are.

Mizuno JPX900 driver review

Mizuno JPX900: The Technology

The Mizuno JPX900 driver has all-new adjustability in the sole and hosel. Helps golfers get dialled in better than ever.

It very much seems like they have taken the best bits from the JPX EZ driver and the JPX850 driver to deliver a complete package.

The JPX EZ was large and super-forgiving but for some the spin rate did get a little bit high. The JPX850 was an incredibly long, low-spinning driver but didn’t quite have the forgiveness on off-centre hits.

With the Mizuno JPX900 driver, the brand say the ability to get the spin rate dialled in properly results in a driver which tour players and club golfers will have lots of fun and success with.

It’s also a little bit longer, wider and shallower than the JPX850 so looks a bit easier to hit from the off.

The Mizuno JPX900 driver has already been used to good effect by staff players such as Magnus A Carlsson and Nicole Broch Larsen. It is hoped a few more players will put the driver in the bag over the coming months.

The finish on the Mizuno JPX900 driver is a similar stunning blue to what was featured on the JPX850 but has a classy matt finish. The JPX850 was a bit bright and shiny in the sunlight.

The Mizuno JPX900 driver also comes with a super-premium Fujikura Speeder Evolution 2 shaft as standard.

– A newly configured, multi-thickness face, strengthened in key areas, significantly boosts ball speeds.

– Adjustability consists of two 8g weights which can be moved backwards and forwards to change ball-flight and spin.

– Three Fast Tracks in the sole will help aid the desired shot shape,

– Quick Switch hosel allows you to change loft or shaft in an instant, plus a face angle prop in the sole

JPX900 fairway woods

Mizuno JPX900 3-wood review

An expanded Shockwave Sole on the new JPX900 fairway wood helps create more ball speed while the 15g sliding weight system in the sole ensures maximum playability for a wide range of swing types. The JPX900 fairway again comes fitted with a Fujikura Speeder Evolution 2 shaft as standard.

JPX900 hybrids

Mizuno’s first adjustable hybrid has a smaller, compact profile. It is very much a long iron replacement rather than something closer to a fairway wood. Mizuno still say it has had been built like a wood but will play like an iron. The JPX900’s face sits more like an iron than in Mizuno’s previous hybrids, while the club is set up a little shorter and flatter than previously. This is to help it work especially well for players who normally hook their hybrids.

Mizuno JPX900: The Details
