This is a really versatile, trainer-style shoe for this golf season. Although this may just seem like a summer option the microfibre leather upper is fully waterproof so you can put these in play all year round.

First Impressions

How cool and casual are these? Puma have really nailed the trainer-style shoe here. This is a really cool design that I would be happy to wear both on and off the golf course.

I tested these in the White, Navy and Blazer-Flamingo Pink colourway, which is one of two colours available this year, the other being plain white. I really like the small splashes of colour here and think it adds to the overall aesthetic of the shoe.

On Course Testing

I have put these shoes through some serious testing, in a variety of weather conditions on golf courses here in the UK while filming for our YouTube channel. I am a UK size 6, and a size 6 in these fits perfectly. I like the fact there is a thicker sole underfoot in these, and the higher arch really adds to the overall fit. They have a low boot-style silhouette which is very comfortable and hugs the foot nicely. These are inspired by a running shoe, so they are rounder in the toe which I like to look down on.

My favourite feature is probably just how comfortable these are. The fit really helps with this, and I like the support you get from the high back heel structure. The inner heel is covered with a soft mesh interior so you don’t need to worry about getting blisters in these.

Underfoot Puma have included unique layers of cushioning, which they are calling Fusion Foam. This provides energy return to help your foot feel supported and fresh for the whole round. These are the kind of shoes you put on and forget you ever need to change, they don’t feel heavy to walk around in, and the versatility of the design means you can easily put these on at home and go into the clubhouse or bar afterwards in them.

I also love the funky detailing on the sole. Puma always like to have some fun with their designs, and the golf sole is certainly eye-catching. You can see this has a spikeless design, and this worked well from a variety of lies and situations, but it definitely didn’t feel as stable as some of the spiked models I have tested this season.

These are made from a waterproof seam-sealed microfiber leather upper with TPU skin. This makes the shoe completely waterproof so you can battle the elements while on the course. This waterproof seam-sealed upper definitely worked, as these have managed to keep my feet dry through numerous rainy days. These also come with a one-year waterproof warranty.

This upper is also really easy to clean if you get them muddy out on the golf course.

It may sound like a stupid detail, but I actually really like the shoe laces that come with these. They are very robust and easily stay in place once you have tied them up for your round so you can avoid the faff of constantly refastening and tightening them.

The 19th hole

Overall, I really love these golf shoes. The fit and comfort is next level, and I really like how casual they are. It would be easy for someone to think these are just some stylish trainers, which makes them perfect for on and off-course versatility.
