Playing golf at altitude can be very fun and enjoyable mainly due to the ball going up to 20% further than at sea level.

This sense of power can make amateurs, who are normally struggling for distance, feel like tour pros when the thinner air allows the ball to travel a lot further. But where will the best course be to take advantage of this?

We take a look at the highest golf course in the world.

Where is the highest golf course in the world?

There’s a number of regions where the highest golf course in the world could be especially with mountain ranges such as The Alps, The Andes and The Rocky Mountains on Earth.

However, the highest golf course in the world is located in the Himalayas. To be more precise it is in the very North of India close to the Chinese and Bhutan borders.

You will find the Yak Course in Kupup, East Sikkim, India.

How high is the highest course in the world?

At 13,025ft (3790m) it is the highest 18 hole golf course in the world, officially measured on October 10 2006 by the Guinness World Records. It measures over 6,000 yards long (5,510m) when played at its full length.
