Golf has long been a force for fundraising. Various initiates and money raising ideas have been incorporated into the sport we love.
Now, golfers will have the chance to test themselves over 36 holes in a charity event to do just that. Participants will have the opportunity to raise money for a cause that affects so many clubs across the country as The Big Golf Race Major heads to Fulford Golf Club this September.
Taking place on Wednesday, September 2nd, the event has been launched as part of a collaboration between the NCG Top 100s Tour and Prostate Cancer UK.
The Big Golf Race Major is a special one-off event on the NCG Top 100s Tour calendar in aid of Prostate Cancer UK.
The NCG Top 100s Tour is the UK’s leading series of competitive events for club golfers. Events are played at a variety of some of the finest courses in Britain. Most of which feature on their definitive NCG Top 100s ranking lists.

With stops at Open Championship venues like Royal St George’s and Royal Lytham & St Anne’s it’s a great way to tick off those bucket list courses.
Unlike a standard Top 100s Tour event, golfers will play 36 holes in one day at Fulford Golf Club. They are also required to raise money as part of The Big Golf Race, Prostate Cancer UK’s flagship fundraising campaign.
Unlike a traditional one-round tournament, entrants will take on one of England’s finest inland layouts, with two shotgun starts scheduled for 8.30am and 2.30pm.
The event will be played as an individual Stableford competition. Prizes will be awarded for the first round, second round, overall combined scores and the lowest gross score. Golfers will also receive a one-course meal between rounds as part of their entry.

Other competitions will be running simultaneously throughout the day, including things like nearest-the-pin.
