There are plenty of great Spanish regions for a golf trip, but Golfbreaks are throwing Murcia out as the perfect spot for your next holiday!

Murcia golf trip

Fordy, Head of Brand and Partnerships at Golfbreaks, embarked on a journey to uncover the perfect golf trip in Murcia – a captivating region in southeastern Spain.

With its stunning landscapes, rich cultural heritage, and array of world-class golf courses, Murcia proved to be a golfer’s haven that surpassed all expectations.

Join Fordy, and Love Island’s Nathan Massey, as they delve into the highlights of this remarkable Spanish golf destination and discover the hidden gems it has to offer.

Take a look at the video below to watch part 1!

PART 1

The adventure begins with a visit to Aguilon and Lorca, two remarkable courses situated near Aguilas, approximately an hour and a half south of Alicante.

Teeing off amidst breathtaking views of the Mediterranean Sea, the allure of these courses became evident. Both layouts provide a perfect blend of scenic beauty and challenging layouts, ensuring an unforgettable golfing experience.

Continuing our journey, we make our way to La Manga Club, a golfing paradise that has captivated players for decades. With its three championship courses, La Manga Club offers a variety of golfing experiences to suit every preference. The meticulously maintained fairways and world-class facilities make this resort a favourite among golf enthusiasts from around the globe.

Our final stop in Part 1 of our golf trip takes us to Roda Golf Club, conveniently located just 30 minutes from Murcia Airport. Designed by Dave Thomas, this spectacular course perfectly showcases the region’s natural beauty. Roda is a true gem that encapsulates the essence of golfing in Murcia.

PART 2

In Part 2 of our Murcia golfing adventure, we dive deeper into the region’s golfing scene, discovering more hidden gems that will leave golfers in awe.

Our first destination is Mar Menor, a remarkable facility considered to be one of Spain’s best golf resorts. Golfers can enjoy breathtaking views of the Mar Menor lagoon while indulging in a round of golf that combines challenge and serenity.

Next on our itinerary is Hacienda Del Alamo, a prestigious golf resort that showcases the region’s golfing excellence. Here, you’ll find another first-class stay & play golf experience, with a Dave Thomas design that utilises gentle undulations, orchards and groves, strategically placed water, and plenty of length.

As we continue our golfing adventure, we arrive at Doubletree La Torre, where luxury and golfing excellence seamlessly intertwine. Designed by Jack Nicklaus, this 18-hole championship course is a testament to his legendary skill and creativity.

Our journey then takes us to El Valle Golf Resort, a hidden gem nestled amidst the captivating Murcian landscapes. The undulating fairways, well-guarded greens, and the surrounding natural beauty make El Valle a true golfer’s paradise.

Next, we arrive at Altorreal Golf Club, a course that captivates with its harmonious integration of nature and golf. The lush vegetation, stunning views, and impeccable course conditions ensure an unforgettable round of golf.

Finally, we conclude our exploration at Occidental Siete Coronas, a hidden urban gem situated amidst the charming cityscape of Murcia. This urban course provides a unique golfing experience, combining the excitement of city golf with the convenience of luxurious accommodations.

Whether you choose to tee off against breathtaking natural backdrops or amidst the vibrant cityscape, Murcia promises a golf experience that will leave you in awe.

With its exceptional courses, stunning landscapes, and warm hospitality, this captivating region invites golfers to indulge in a golfing adventure unlike any other.
