Rory McIlroy secured the Grand Slam in 2025 and has now gone back to back at The Masters – becoming only the 4th person to do so – after Jack Nicklaus, Sir Nick Faldo and Tiger Woods.

So, what if anything, has changed in terms of the clubs in his bag? Paul Miller took a closer look…

So, Rory has introduced a new driver, 5-wood, wedges and ball for 2026 whilst retaining the same 3-wood, irons, putter and grips. Either way, it is TaylorMade all the way

A look inside Rory McIlroy’s bag

The top of his bag, for now, are the new Qi4D driver and five wood but he sticks with the Qi10 model for the three wood.

Earlier in 2025 he opted for the Qi10 5 wood for the US Open at Oakmont but replaced this with the P760 long irons for The Open – before moving into the rest of his bag with a TaylorMade P760 4 iron and TaylorMade Rors Proto 5-9 iron. Early in 2026 he made the switch to the P7CB irons before reverting back to the Rors Proto’s.

Having also played around with his wedge set up he is currently gaming 4 of the new TaylorMade MG5 wedges.

Putter wise he is still playing the TaylorMade Spider Tour X putter. A putter he recommended to Scottie Scheffler.

He rounds out his gear with the TaylorMade TP5 golf ball – which was a big change in 2025 as he played the TP5x in previous years.

About the author

Paul has been playing golf for around a fourth of a Century, whilst his time on this Earth is rapidly approaching half a Century!

During that time his handicap, on average, has gone down around half a shot a year and is currently at 8.

His general love of Sport included a time studying the Philosophy and Sociology of Sport.

In 2013 he co-authored a book chapter 'The good and bad of youth sport today'.

His passion for youth sport is equally matched in his role heading up the Buyer's Guides for National Club Golfer.
