It was a record equally triumph at Scioto Country Club for Padraig Harrington as he won the US Senior Open for a third time. He joins Miller Barber as the only golfer to have won the championship more than twice after previously winning the trophy in 2022 and 2025.

As a result he claimed the seventh major of his illustrious career, adding to the Senior Opens he won earlier last year.

Padraig Harrington also became just the sixth golfer to win both The Open Championship and the Senior Open Championship in 2025.

Harrington has long been associated with Wilson clubs, ever since the start of his career. The irishman and the golf club manufacturer have one of the longstanding equipment-player partnerships in modern golf, spanning nearly 30 years.

So, what does the two-time Open Champion have in play this season. Let’s take a look…

A look inside Padraig Harrington’s bag

In truth, Harrington hasn’t changed his set-up an awful lot over the last few years or so. A player of habit it seems. He starts off his mixed bag with the Titleist TSR3 driver. It seems as though the Irishman has yet to switch to Titleist’s new GT or GT2 driver ranges.

He pairs this with two TaylorMade fairway woods. He currently games a TaylorMade Stealth 2, 5-wood and 3-wood, after previously using a TaylorMade Qi10.

His first Wilson club in his bag is Padraig’s driving iron, which he opts for instead of a hybrid. He has this in the 3 iron spec and mixes it with a set of Wilson Staff CBs to complete his iron set up. His CB set rages from a 5-iron to a pitching wedge.

Harrington uses three Wilson Staff wedges. He has chopped and changed the degrees of wedges he has used over the last 12 months but seems to have settled on a winning formula of 52°, 56° and 60°.

Moving away from Wilson clubs the three-time major winner uses an Odyssey White Hot OG 2-ball putter.

Max Mcvittie

A bit of a late bloomer to the game of golf, Max fell in love with the sport when he attended Saturday coaching sessions down at his local golf club after being inspired by friends and family members.

Max has remained a member of Eden Golf Club in Carlisle for a number of years now as he looks to get his handicap down into single figures. Most of his golfing career has been spent battling a permanent slice off the tee, which has led to some ugly rounds.

Having studied at the University of Sunderland, Max is starting out his dream career in sports journalism. During his time at university, he picked up valuable work experience at Reach PLC, BBC Radio Cumbria and GiveMeSport, whilst also getting work published in the Teesside Live. He also spent time working at a local weekly newspaper, Eskdale and Liddesdale Advertiser, as a general news reporter partially covering some local sport just north of the border in Langholm.

Max has just started his journey with the NCG working as the assistant equipment editor. He looks forwarded to reviewing the latest golf equipment, taking up an interest in reviews when buying his first golf club, a Cleveland RTX wedge.

With his bag not going under too many changes throughout the last few years, Max carries an M3 driver, Titleist GT3 Fairway Wood, M2 hybrid, a set of M2 irons, Callaway Jaws wedges and a TaylorMade Spider putter. And yes, Max is a bit of a self-proclaimed TaylorMade fan boy.
