Wilson Staff have introduced the super-light D200 family of clubs which are aimed at offering more swing speed for greater distance.
The new range features a new adjustable driver, fairway woods, hybrids and irons which are lighter than the previous D100 models but offers a more solid feel due to precise weight positioning.
“Product testing has shown that golfers of all standards can benefit from lighter clubs, as they are easier to swing faster with the same effort to achieve increased club head and ball speeds that lead to greater distance,” said Michael Vrska, global director of innovation at Wilson Golf.
The result is Wilson Staff’s biggest advancement in distance-related technology yet” “But, it’s not just about being lightweight, because the challenge is optimising the limited mass available for distribution within the head, shaft and grip to achieve the best performance for each club,” he added.
The D200 Driver weighs just 268 grams making it one of the lightest and fastest adjustable drivers on the market
It also features a six-way adjustable hosel with three different loft settings and three draw settings to customise the launch angle and a left-to-right ball flight.
New technology expands the size of the face to provide more forgiveness on heel and toe impacts, while a reduction in thickness around the lower half of the face extends ball speed on any mis-hits.
The D200 fairway woods have a distinctive rounded sole aimed at providing versatility in all playing conditions.
A new stainless steel face insert helps add distance whether playing from the tee or the turf.
An overall increase in the size of the face, especially in the heel and toe areas, promotes forgiveness and improved ball speeds on off-centre hits.
The D200 hybrids also feature a steel face insert and larger heads for added forgiveness.
Improvements in the D200 irons offer increased ball speeds of more than 2mph compared to the D100 models.
Weight saved from the face and sole is redistributed to the heel and toe for a larger sweet spot and increased MOI (up 5% on the D100 irons).
“The result is Wilson Staff’s biggest advancement in distance-related technology yet,” added Vrska.
