Titleist launch new Pro V1 and Pro V1x balls

Titleist launch new Pro V1 and Pro V1x balls

The new range improves on the previous iteration in numerous ways

Designed for all golfers seeking to shoot lower scores, 2015 Pro V1 and Pro V1x aim to deliver consistent flight for increased distance, more short game control and even softer feel, and long lasting durability.

The Pro V1 has a softer feel, slightly more long game spin and a penetrating trajectory for a shallower angle of descent for more roll.

Pro V1x offers a slightly firmer feel, lower long game spin and launches higher with a steeper angle of descent.

The total performance of Pro V1 and Pro V1x tee-through-green – aim to provide a player with the best combination of distance, flight, short-game scoring control and feel – making them the best fit for any level of golfer.

The V1x went through a rigorous and timely testing phase with Titleist brand ambassadors recording early successes with the new range.

The new range already has claimed back-to-back victories for the 2015 Pro V1x on the European Tour, with Gary Stal and Andy Sullivan trusting the new ball to claim maiden Tour victories at the Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship and South African Open respectively, it is clear that this new range suits a wide range of playing conditions.

Currently, well over 100 players across the worldwide professional tours have put the 2015 models in play, including Adam Scott, Ian Poulter, Hunter Mahan, Jimmy Walker, Jamie Donaldson, Geoff Ogilvy, Bill Haas, and Padraig Harrington who teed up the 2015 Pro V1x for the first time in his victory at the Indonesian Open.

I loved the feel and felt that the ball was spinning a little more around the greens, whilst being just as long off the tee.
At last weekend’s Sony Open in Hawaii, Jimmy Walker trusted 2015 Pro V1x to rounds of 66-66-62-63 for a nine-stoke victory.

A week earlier, Walker teed up new Pro V1x for the first time at the Hyundai Tournament of Champions, where he finished runner-up. Over those eight rounds, Walker made 52 birdies and hit 84 percent of greens in regulation. At Hyundai, Walker played a total of four golf balls – one per round. Walker played only one new Pro V1x during his final round at Sony.

Harrington said: “I used the new Pro V1x for the first time during my victory in the Bank BRI Indonesia Open. After some testing on the practice days.

“I put the ball straight into play and found it to be a seamless switch. I loved the feel and felt that the ball was spinning a little more around the greens, whilst being just as long off the tee. In fact the last time I switched to a new version of the Pro V1x ball (during the 2011 tour seeding process), I also won in Asia the first week out.”

Bubba Watson said: “I first tried the new ball about two weeks prior to going to China. I loved it and put it in play right away. It has all the great qualities of the previous generation Pro V1x with improved feel around the greens, which is exceptional. It even goes a little further for me off the tee.”

2015 Pro V1 and Pro V1x golf balls are available in standard dozens that include play numbers 1-4 (low) and 5-8 (high).

Available: 30th January

SRP: £51 per dozen.
