Miguel Angel Jimenez WITB. Check out the Ping clubs the Spaniard used to claim an emotional victory at the Home of Golf including the Ping G400 driver and iBlade irons.

Jimenez has been a loyal Ping staffer for decades and has enjoyed a huge amount of success with their clubs.

And while he and the likes of Lee Westwood may have been slow to move into the latest models, we’ve seen both switching into the new G400 range with no fuss at all.

You get the feeling Ping are right at the top of their game at the moment with Bubba Watson enjoying a great year, Patrick Reed choosing to use the G400 driver at the Masters and European Tour success with the likes of Matt Wallace and Brandon Stone.

We’ve even had non-contracted players such as Russell Knox having success with the new G400 range.

Jimenez uses the regular G400 driver along with a strong 3-wood and a 17.5˚ 5-wood.

And he uses the iBlade irons from 3-PW. That’s actually quite rare for a tour player these days to have just the one iron model in the bag.

We’re used to seeing players opt for different models in the longer irons for higher launch and more forgiveness.

But Jimenez is still a pure ball striker so has no trouble with his blades – even the 3-iron.

He uses the Ping Glide 2.0 wedges and has a fairly new Vault 2.0 Dale Anser putter in the bag.

Jimenez closed with a final round of 69 for a 12-under-par total of 276 to claim his second Senior Major Championship of the year, and his first Senior Open, by a single shot from the 2017 Champion, Bernhard Langer.

“This is one of my biggest victories,” said Jiménez. “It’s amazing to win here. This is my second Major of the year, and it’s amazing to be the winner of The Senior Open here at St Andrews, the Home of Golf.

“There are no words to describe the feeling of holding the trophy on the 18th green. To have that trophy in my hand in front of the crowd and my friends, and my family is amazing.”
