WITB: Russell Knox – Irish Open
Russell Knox WITB. The Scot has a 10-club and ball deal with Srixon/Cleveland so his irons, wedges and ball have barely changed in recent years.
But with the freedom to choose his driver, fairway woods and putter we’ve seen a LOT of changes over the past 18 months.
His driver of choice at the moment is the Ping G400 LST – the same model free agent Patrick Reed used to win the Masters.
Previously he has used Cleveland and TaylorMade drivers.
Knox is also using a Ping G400 fairway wood.
Then we see him with an old Cleveland hybrids which has been in and out of his bag over the past three or four years.
And his irons aren’t exactly brand new. Knox uses the Srixon Z745 which were released in 2015.
They have since been replaced by the Z765 range.
His wedges are Cleveland’s latest blades – the RTX-3 – which a number of Cleveland staff players use.
When Knox landed his first win at the WGC-HSBC Champions in 2015 he was using a Scotty Cameron Tour Rat 2 putter.
He then switched to a Cure RX5 before going for a SeeMore FGP Giant which he used for his win at the Travelers Championship in 2016.
But following a dry spell we’ve seen him using an Odyssey O-Works #2W before going back to a Scotty Cameron for his Irish Open victory which included two massive birdie putts on the 72nd and 73rd holes.
Knox plays the Srixon Z-Star golf ball and is an ambassador for Skechers shoes.
