Having secured the US Amateur Championship 2025 Mason Howell is one of the hottest prospects in golf. Equipment editor Paul Miller takes a closer look at which clubs are currently delivering impressive distances and birdie putts on the green.

Fresh off his 7&6 victory against Jackson Herrington at the US Amateur Championship at The Olympic Club’s Lake Course, Mason Howell has an exciting 2025/2026 ahead – gaining invites to The Masters, The Open Championship and US Open. He has also earned an automatic exemption onto the U.S. Walker Cup team for next month’s match at Cypress Point.

Prior to becoming US Amateur Champion he made history as the youngest player at the 2025 U.S. Open at Oakmont, after shooting two bogey-free rounds of 63 during final qualifying at Piedmont Driving Club in Atlanta. All still being at high school!

His parents got him his first set of clubs at the age of 5 and by the time he as 14 he was able to shoot a round of 59 at Glen Arven Country Club – the same club that Harris English played at as a junior.

Currently the brands that support Mason are Ping, Holderness & Bourne, Footjoy and Titleist.

Let’s take a closer look at the Mason Howell WITB 2025 and which clubs helped him secure the US Amateur title.

What’s in Mason Howell’s bag?

From the top to the bottom of his bag Mason swings and putts with Ping clubs.

At the top of the bag his driver and fairway wood are both from the new G440 range.

He then opts for the iDi driving iron before moving into the i230 irons.

He carries three s159 wedges and the PLD Ally Blue 4 putter.

His ball of choice is the Titleist Pro V1.
